My favorite moments with the MAKINAaudio T100B

Just wanted to share a few shots of the MAKINAaudio T100B.

A single BA IEM from South Korea, tuned for natural timbre, coherence, and everyday listening.

Hope you enjoy the photos. Feedback is always appreciated.

Small Korean IEM brand here — our upcoming single-BA T-100 uses a Sonion 2354, happy to answer questions

Hi r/iems,
I’m HyoYeon from MAKINAaudio, and I wanted to share a short Q&A / clarification post about the T-100B before launch.
A few reviews and impressions are already circulating, so I thought it would be better to explain the product clearly and answer the most common questions in one place.

1) What is the MAKINAaudio T-100?
The T-100B is a single full-range balanced armature IEM designed around a simple idea:
coherent, fatigue-free everyday listening with solid technical performance, without overcomplicating the driver setup.
This is not a “how many drivers can we fit in the shell” project.
We wanted to build a practical, well-tuned everyday IEM that sounds natural, stable, and easy to live with.

2) Driver / acoustic setup
The T-100B uses:
1x Sonion 2354 full-range balanced armature
Knowles damping filter
modular termination with 3.5 mm / 4.4 mm
made in Korea
The tuning goal was not to create an exaggerated “wow” sound for the first 30 seconds.
We were aiming for a more coherent and balanced presentation that still feels enjoyable for long listening sessions.

3) Is MAKINAaudio the same brand as Hidition?
No. MAKINAaudio and Hidition are not the same brand.
This is something I want to make very clear.
MAKINAaudio is a separate brand with its own identity, direction, product planning, and release strategy.
The T-100B is a MAKINAaudio product, and it will be sold under MAKINAaudio.
While there has been engineering/tuning involvement from people with deep experience in the Korean IEM scene, MAKINAaudio should not be understood as “just Hidition under another name.”
In short:
Brand: MAKINAaudio
Product owner / release brand: MAKINAaudio
Not a Hidition rebrand
I know the Korean IEM space is small and connections naturally overlap, so I wanted to address that directly.

4) What kind of sound were you aiming for?
The short version:
clean and stable mids
controlled low end
treble that stays open without becoming sharp
a presentation focused more on coherence, natural tone, and long-term listenability than on aggressive contrast
We didn’t tune it to sound artificially huge or hyper-boosted.
The goal was something that still feels “complete” and engaging even when you use it casually, not only in short A/B demos.

5) Is this meant for portable use or desktop use?
Both, but we especially wanted it to make sense as an EDC / daily-use IEM.
That means it should be comfortable and satisfying from simple sources as well as better desktop or portable chains.
We care a lot about how an IEM behaves in normal everyday use, not only in an ideal review setup.

6) Is the T-100B already on sale?
Not yet.
The current plan is:
let the first wave of reviews and community impressions come out
estimate production quantity based on that feedback and demand
move into production
begin sales in Korea first
At the moment, our target is to start sales in Korea within the next 3 months, assuming the production schedule stays on track.
So for now, it’s more accurate to say:
reviews first → production quantity decision → production → Korea launch

7) Why are you waiting before deciding production quantity?
Because we’re still a small brand, and I’d rather be honest about that.
Instead of pretending we have unlimited scale from day one, we’re trying to make sensible production decisions based on:
actual review feedback
early community response
realistic launch demand
That’s the current plan.

8) Will there be more info later?
Yes. As more reviews go live, I’ll share more concrete launch details when I can.
For now, I mainly wanted to clear up the basics:
what the T-100B is
what driver setup it uses
what the launch plan looks like
and most importantly, that MAKINAaudio is its own brand

Thanks for reading, and if you have questions, feel free to ask below.
I’ll answer what I can.

An honest response regarding recent concerns about our marketing practices

Hello r/iems,

My name is HyoYeon Go(Drake Go) also known as Founder of MAKINAaudio, and I’m reaching out from the official MAKINAaudio account.

We’ve seen the recent discussions about our activity in this community, and I want to address it directly and honestly.

We made a mistake. In our eagerness to introduce MAKINAaudio and connect with the IEM community, we used multiple accounts (including what appeared as unrelated users) to engage in discussions and share feedback about our products. Some of these posts came across as inauthentic or overly promotional, and in a few cases, the language felt artificial. This was wrong. It goes against the kind of open and genuine community we actually want to be part of.

There’s no excuse for this kind of behavior. We should have been transparent from the beginning and engaged only through our official account. Using other accounts to create the appearance of organic discussion was a poor decision, and we take full responsibility for it.

What we’ve done so far:

• We have stopped all activity from any secondary or unofficial accounts.
• We are reviewing our internal marketing approach and have already made changes to ensure that all future communication comes only from this official account.
• We are committed to being fully transparent moving forward.
What we will do differently:
• We will only communicate through this official MAKINAaudio account.
• We will focus on sharing product information, measurements where available, and honest updates — nothing more.
• We will not attempt to influence discussions through indirect or disguised accounts.
• We welcome direct feedback and criticism, even when it’s difficult to hear.

We’re a very new brand, and we clearly have a lot to learn about how this community works and what it values. We respect the standards here, and we’re sorry for falling short of them.

If anyone has questions or wants to discuss this further, I’m happy to answer as openly as possible in this thread.

Thank you for your time, and for holding brands accountable.
