Failover on a GL-MT6000?

I'm 100% WFH, so when Spectrum went down, and went down hard, I shuffled off to the local AT&T store to pick up a 5G router, an "All-Fi Hub". Got it home cabled up to WAN2 on the Flint, and...nothing. The Hub device is online and working properly, confirmed by connecting a laptop to its LAN port and getting an IP and excruciatingly slow speeds.

For whatever reason the Flint is just not seeing the link to the Hub. In Luci the secondwan interface shows "Error: Network device is not present". Sure would be nice if these things had friggin' link lights on the physical interfaces.

There's not much you can do in GLINet's interface WRT to configuring failover, it's pretty much a choice between Failover & Load Balance. Obviously I'm on failover.

Anyone out there have any idea what I'm missing?

Semi-related: AT&T has been down in my area for the past ~18 hours. You can't make this shit up.

Zipper Merge?

I'm on NY 88, the endless roving construction zone, crawling along miles before the right lane is closed. I'm in the left lane when I noticed a driver coming up slowly on my right, blocking all the assholes who think they should go to the head of the line while the rest of us suffer an inevitability of modern life. I've played this game enough times to know the rules, so once he passes me I hold his space open until we get to the closure, then let him in while locking out all the BMW asshats and compensatory vehicle losers. Once we get past the construction we exchange congratulatory honks and go about our lives.

I love it, but one question. Wouldn't it be better to let everybody use both lanes up until the closure and then zipper merge? I get that that's probably asking too much of your average four wheeler, but the thought crossed my mind. Whaddaya think drivers?

Dead Tonic

Pretty much title. Grabbed my Tonic and it's just...dead. Fresh known-good batteries and... nothing. Nothing on the screen, no response to inputs. Once the Play button lit when I inserted batteries, but I could not repeat. I suspect it's dead, but figured it's worth asking if there's a magic button combo that might bring it back to life. It lived in a dedicated 3D-printed case and had moderate use over almost exactly two years. Bummed because it was my gateway "synth".

TIA for any thoughts!

Bizarrely Bricked Beryl

Just arrived at the Air B&B and broke out the Beryl, happy to see the cable modem has Ethernet ports. Cable up, no link. OK, maybe some dick move by Charter (can you imagine such a thing?!?!?) so I cable to LAN and try to login to set up repeater mode. Spend the next half an hour trying to get the management interface to load, multiple hard resets, no luck. Finally get into UBoot and flash it to 4.7.4-0328 and am finally able to get into the damn thing. Get through the initial setup and go to register it in Goodcloud and it just stops responding. And that was the last I saw of the mgmt int.

It's working. It hands out IP's and is functioning in repeater mode. But I can NOT get the damn mgmt int to load to save my life. I sure as hell don't trust it to be stable. Anybody run into this before? I'd hate to trash it if there's a fix. Backrev the firmware? At this point that's the only thing I can think to do, unless there's some SSH voodoo that I can try.

Just ordered a Flint 2 to replace my aging Netgear at home, and this is making me question my decision. Any input will be deeply appreciated.
