I've been wondering where people draw the line between "we can work through it together" and "we're fundamentally incompatible."

For example, shared values, trust, communication, life goals, etc. are obviously important. But what about sexual compatibility, especially when it comes to things that go beyond vanilla relationships?

I'm talking about differences in things like power dynamics, dominance/submission, specific kinks, or simply how each person experiences intimacy. Do you think those things are essential for a relationship to work long-term, or can two people with different preferences genuinely meet in the middle?

Personally, I've always felt that some desires run deeper than people give them credit for. They aren't just bedroom preferences, they affect how you connect, trust, and express affection.
