Genuine curiosity over the differences of Mentor mindsets

Just looking for some opinions on a short exchange had in a Mentor roulette (myself in Orange, other Mentor in Blue).

I'm aware of the general disdain held towards Mentors. I wear the crown because I genuinely like giving newer players reasons to enjoy the game. I think a friendly community and other helpful players does more in that regard than any new content can when it comes to retaining players.

I'm not asking for a "who's right, who's wrong" here, since both can be correct in their own way. I guess I'm just wondering where most people land on the scale when it comes to landing an EX duty in Mentor roulette.

I personally have no problems performing well enough to clear them, but not everyone is me. It's likely that the people queueing in DF for an EX aren't prepared for the sharp increase in difficulty from something like a Hard mode trial or a Dungeon. I know that when I see an EX pop up, it's going to be a challenge. Not to perform the mechanics, but to try and form some level of understanding for the individuals who may have no idea what they signed up for.

On the other hand, I agree that the job of a Mentor is to mentor. It's to teach. It's to introduce new concepts and reinforce existing ones in players who may need it.

All that being said, most EX duties I've run into in Mentor roulette have been ARR and can usually be brute forced to completion with enough repetition, but I always thought the "uh-oh, an EX trial" sentiment was widely shared amongst people running Mentor roulette.

Thoughts?
