Condusiv Undelete Reddit Review

Condusiv Undelete Reddit Review

I thought I’d submit a post about my experience using Condusiv’s Undelete products.

Background: I have a small home network of Windows 11 computers. All of our data is located on a single desktop PC that is our server. Multiple drives on the server have folders that are shared out to the other computers.

Problem: If a client computer deletes a file on a server share, that file is gone. It’s not in the server Recycle Bin and it’s not in the client Recycle Bin. It would have to be recovered from a server backup, if you do one regularly. Even this won’t help with a file that gets deleted between backups. This is sometimes called a zero day delete.

Solution: I searched for quite a while and the only product that seemed to be a solution was Condusiv’s Undelete products. There are basically two Undelete products; Undelete Server (which includes Undelete Client) and Undelete Professional.

Both Server and Professional create a shortcut on your server desktop called Recovery Bin. Any files deleted from the server by a client end up in the Recovery Bin which can be used to restore the deleted files.

Both Server and Professional allow you to do the restore from the physical server Recovery Bin. The advantage of Server is that it should allow you to install the Client Undelete (comes with the Server software) on the client PCs. They should then be able to do restores without physical access to the server computer. I never could get that to work due to permission issues on my server PC.

Condusiv’s technical support told me that Undelete Professional is the same as Undelete Server except there is no option to have clients do their own restores. I couldn’t find a link to the trial download for this product, so he sent it to me. If the link no longer works, contact Condusiv support.

As of this writing in May of 2026, the cost for Undelete Professional was $79 per year for 1-4 licenses and Undelete Server was $200 per year for 1-4 licenses.

There are also some additional features of these products. More information can be found on their website Condusive.com.

I hope this helps anyone needing a product like this. If you find some other software that can do the same thing for less cost, please reply and share.

Thank you

I have a small Windows 11 home network with a single desktop PC acting as my home server. I have an office desktop PC and two laptop clients that keep data on the server under shared folders. This makes backups much easier.

My primary problem is when server files are deleted by client PCs between backups. These day zero deletes do not show up in the server recycle bin or the client recycle bin.

Condusiv Undelete Server & Client seems like my solution. I was able to download and install the trial version of the Server software and it works perfect. It creates what's called a Recovery Bin that you use instead of the Recycle Bin. Files deleted from shared folders on the server by a client PC now show up and can be restored from here. But, you have to physically access the server to do this restore.

This takes care of step 1 of 2. Now I want the client users (my wife and myself), to be able to restore deleted server files from their own PCs without having to physically access the Server PC (it's in a small server room).

I was able to install this Client version of Undelete and it successfully creates a Recover Bin on the user's desktop. But, when I open the client Recovery Bin and try to link it to the server Recovery Bin, it can't find it. In fact, it can't find anything on my network.

I sent an email to the support folks at Condusiv but have heard nothing back.

Has anyone had any experience with this software and can help me? I don't have any issue viewing and editing data on the server using Windows Explorer so I don't think it's an issue with permissions on the server.

If you can't help with this, are you aware of any other software that can perform this function of recovering day zero server deletes for a small home network? Especially from the client PCs.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
