Hey fellow creators,

We are entering the final home stretch! My minifigure-scale, 1,361-piece Thundertank project just picked up an official Staff Pick badge, and the momentum is real.

  • Current Supporters: 7,915
  • Time Left: 72 days
  • Target to 10K: 2,085

I designed this with a strict focus on structural stability and features (full interior, retractable front) so it functions as a real, playable toy, not just a fragile digital render.

If you want to see this classic 80s icon get its fair shot at the review board, I’d deeply appreciate your vote to help us cross the finish line!

Thanks for the incredible support so far! Let's hit that 10K.

ThunderCats... HOOOOO! 🗡️🧱

Recreated the cover of Dynamite's ThunderCats #06 in brick form!

Hey fellow builders! This is my 1,361-piece Thundertank build, completely at minifigure scale. My design philosophy is strictly 'Play and Display'—I wanted it to look sleek and detailed on a shelf but hold up perfectly to actual handling without pieces dropping off. It has a full interior and functional hidden play features.

This model just picked up an official Staff Pick badge on LEGO Ideas and we are on a 75-day sprint to hit the final 10K review stage. We are currently at 7,787 supporters and need just 2,122 more to cross the finish line.

If you're a fan of classic 80s mechanical design and want to see more functional retro builds, give a shoutout what you like to see next?

I recreated the cover of Dynamite's ThunderCats #06 using my custom LEGO Thundertank!

Hey everyone! Long-time fan and customizer here. I’ve been loving the active comic run, and David Nakayama’s cover for issue #6 inspired me to try and replicate the energy using my brick-built Thundertank.

The tank is a 1,361-piece MOC built entirely at minifigure scale, designed with a focus on playability and stability so it doesn't fall apart when handled.

It's currently an official Staff Pick on LEGO Ideas, meaning it has a real shot at becoming a physical set if we can get the final 2,235 votes in the next 75 days. We are sitting strong at 7,765 supporters, and it’s completely free to vote if you'd love to see the franchise get a real retail release.

Let me know what you think of the cover recreation!

It's been a few months since I originally shared these modifications, but I thought the r/lego crew would appreciate seeing the finished product and how I'm displaying it.

The new DeLorean was a great experience, but I had to make a few purist tweaks to get it just right for my collection. Here’s what I did:

  1. Sleek Finish: Rebuilt the entire bonnet using SNOT (Studs Not On Top) techniques for a completely smooth finish. No studs in sight!
  2. Functional Gullwing Doors: This was the biggest job—I had to extend the chassis by a full brick to make the door mechanisms actually stable and functional.
  3. Hover Mode: Engineered folding wheels to make the hover mode authentic.

It’s been sitting with the rest of my Back to the Future custom builds for a while now, and I’m always looking to push these further. What are your thoughts or next suggestions for pushing these MOCs even further?
