What is the thinner, round fiber optic cable running alongside the rectangular google fiber line?
Whie installing some drainage pipe, I excavated some of my fiber cable. I found this thinner, round cable installed along the length of the larger, rectangular fiber cable.
When we got the end near the house, the thinner cable came loose fromt the ground, not attached to anything.
-Our fiber internet seems to work as normal
-I do not think we cut this cable- we were exceedingly careful in digging it out and we knew the cable was there
-I have an extremely vague and possibly false memory of a g-fiber installer telling me that smaller cable isn't used anymore, but am afraid that's wishful thinking.
Can anyone set my mind at ease about what this unconnected, seemingly unused cable was and if I need to do anything about it?
