Songs about yearning for something that once was, but not in a romantic context?
As of late I've been looking for some more tunes for a playlist I have based off of a writing project.
I want something that's melancholic, maybe a little slow, and about (or can be interpreted as) long-term yearning, or missing somebody that you regrettably last saw years ago. But, I am not looking for songs about breakups, ex-lovers, etc. More of a former close friendship/found family type of bond.
Finding it quite hard to find any more songs that aren't explicitly about a romantic relationship, so I figured I'd post here?
I really like country, cowpunk, deathgrass, southern gothic, and just about anything from the 50s, but I'm open to any genre :]
