It's Official - The 50 point rule is dead. Long live the 51 point rule!

Hi everyone,

Now that the dust has settled from last night, we need to address the Rooster in the room - as of last night, the Sydney Roosters broke the "a team cannot win the premiership after conceding 50 points" rule. Even coach Trent Robinson was nervous that it would bite them, but they were too strong (ironically it was Newcastle that set the rule when they won the premiership after conceding 49 points).

So starting next season, the rule will be "a team cannot win the premiership after conceding 51 points". Fadings will occur when a team is beaten by 51 points or more. Fadings from this season will be cleaned up in time for next season as we always do. Roosters may get a faded premiership icon to commemorate this special occasion.

"How do we know if the 50 point rule is still in force and the Roosters cancelled it by beating the clock against one of the teams?" - well we don't, and frankly we don't need to discuss this further. Flair may or may not be related.

"Does the 50 point rule apply during World Cup Games?" - yes, although I'm sure there's another number for World Cups that we can use, and if you know what it is, shout out below!

Let's see how long it takes for this rule to be broken.
