Is there a way to display map item textures in an item frame?

I've been playing around in the newest snapshots, and the updated explorer map textures would be excellent for decoration, papers scattered on desks and such - if putting them into an item frame didn't display the map contents instead!

With commands you can give yourself a blank one that displays the item texture due to lack of map data, but has anyone discovered some way to do it in survival?

Latest snapshot added one of my most requested changes - Cushions don't break inside transparent blocks!

Chillin w/ the lads

Since cushions are entities, they don't block bubble colums so I built a jacuzzi.
Things kinda escalated from there...
(Now if I could only get the record shuffler to stop randomly breaking, I guess DJ Golem had a few too many)

Found some neat anomalies while exploring in the new snapshot. (-6624280556450647720, 26.3-s-1)

Seed is pretty boring at spawn, but I travelled a lot looking for different Abandoned Camp variants and encountered some nice stuff.

1: Lush Cave protruding beyond the surface. Exposed Sulfur Caves were extensively talked about and searched for during the last Drop, and it's nice to see this can happen to other cave biomes as well.

2: Absolutely titanic Badlands, never seen anything close to it. Probably not anywhere close to the record, but still neat.

3: Dappled Forest perfectly following a river for several hundred blocks. Not that special, just cute.
