VIP experience

Was there Sunday and VIP tickets were not sold out. So that might've skewed my experience.

* For non-headliners, especially at the Grove stage, great view due to small crowd in the VIP area. For the real popular artists like Slayyyter, view was still pretty good. The main advantage is you don't need to camp out early to get a decent view because the crowd size was smaller. And because of that you're more motivated to check out different artists at different stages.

* I had the worst view with the Jennie set because she had the most dedicated crowd. The Domonic Fike set came literally immediately before and I didn't leave early enough to stake out a better spot. The crowd was packed in and any time somebody left mid set probably for the A$AP set people immediately moved up to fill the spot. I ended up watching from the side and the problem with the Snapchat stage is that is it deep not not wide unlike the main set so you can't see the artist half the time if you watch from the side.

* Food vendors were great as there was no line most of the time, as opposed to when I walked around the park trying to get some food all the vendors got really long lines.

* Tented sitting areas were always full so finding an empty seat is like rush hour on subway. But when that 12 minute rain hit people were able to quickly gether underneath the tents to avoid the rain.

* Bathrooms were like air-conditioned trailers with toilet papers and paper towels. Never any line and it was a super nice perk. I brought wetnaps and tissues and never had to use them.

* Rental lockers were great as they were perfectly positioned between the two stages so you can put all your stuff in without carrying them around and checked back multiple times.

* Merch area had limited variety, unlike the main merch area near the entrance.

* You only need the VIP wristband to enter the VIP area. No ID needed.

"sneaking in" empty bags?

Does the bag policy only apply to bags that already contain stuff during entry? Can you have an oversized opaque but empty bag that you can just fold and put in your pocket just in case you need a bag for merch? Do they search your pockets? Thanks.
