Refinement Journey: Fixing a "Pluggy" 2800 Graft Result with a 720 Graft Touch-up | Dr. Tawkir (FRCS Plastic surgeon, (30 Yrs Exp) | Day 0 vs. Day 9

Hi everyone,
I wanted to share my journey of transitioning from a standard transplant result to a more refined, natural look.
The Background:
A few years ago, I underwent a 2800-graft transplant here in India. While it gave me coverage, I was never fully satisfied with the aesthetics. To my eye, the hairline looked a bit "pluggy" and artificial—not the soft, natural transition I was looking for as I progressed in my career.
The Refinement:
After a lot of research, I decided to go for a refinement process with Dr. Tawkir, an FRCS surgeon here with over 30 years of experience. The goal wasn't massive coverage, but rather "fixing" the previous work.
Grafts: ~720 (specifically for hairline softening and density blending).
Technique: Focus on single-hair grafts at the leading edge to break up the "pluggy" rows.
The Photos:

  1. Photo 1: Day of the surgery (Day 0) showing the placement and graft distribution.
  2. Photo 2: Day 9, immediately after scab removal.
I’m really happy with how clean the healing has been—virtually no redness or swelling by Day 8. The "accumulation" of shed hair during the scab removal was a bit nerve-wracking, but the underlying skin looks great.
    Current Status:
I’m currently on Day 9. The donor area (which has handled 3,500+ grafts total over my lifetime) is holding up well and starting to shadow in.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on the new hairline design and the density. Does the placement look natural for a "refinement" job?
    Looking forward to your comments!
