New Lasko Cyclone 3250 grill on old fan from 2000s.

Got a replacement front grill for my old model 3250 Lasko Cyclone. Bought from Lasko.encompass.com parts dealer. This fan is old, like 2005-2006, and its original grill was so brittle that it literally disintigrated into pieces and fell off the fan. The part arrived in 3 or 4 days. $7.95 +shipping. The fan still works great, new Cyclones are $50 up. Grill fits perfectly. An original fan on left, same model, and the one with new replacement grill on right.

True Metrix recall now has a sign-up and an offer to replace with a cheaper meter or wait for in-kind 5/19/26

https://www.trividiahealth.com/e-5productnotice/ Fill out the form(s) and at the bottom before submit, there's a toggle to select the True Metrix or True Metrix Pro. Or whatever your meter is. Otherwise, they'll send you a cheaper more basic "Trueness" meter right now. Or at least it looked like a cheaper meter to me, at a glance. I got a long text from the pharmacy which I screenshot and added to my earlier thread here: https://www.reddit.com/r/diabetes/comments/1t39agm/true_metrix_e5_error_meters_fda_issued_a_class_1/

eta: iirc, my insurance says "True Metrix" or Accucheck are the options covered 100% and I don't want to deal with switching to "Trueness" and different strips and not have insurance cover it. I'm not worried about extremely high glucose because mine would not go that high even without any meds. I feel that the replacement should not be a cheaper version than the recalled meter. If anything, they should provide a higher model.

Thrifted 2 machines for $15 total. And they both work!

Amazon Basics, small and lightweight build but it made bread. Old discussions on here think Anazon Basics are made by Sensio. Literally like new. Might be new. I switched the Bake program on, in the store, and smoke rolled outta the machine. The store had failed to remove the Styrofoam packaging under the bread pan. I pulled the pan out and yanked the Styrofoam before it actually burst into flame. Store employees got kinda excited about that. 😂

And an old 1999? 1998? Breadman TR442. Mint condition. Made in Korea and very heavy-built. It's very quiet, too.

I used up a small bag of cheap Dollar General ap flour + some wheat gluten and milk to make these 2 test loaves. They smell awesome. The one may be too sweet for me. It has 1/3c brown sugar. Both are 1.5# loaves. 1.5# is the practical limit for the Amazon. It lacks headroom for a 2#.

Breadman "Dairy Whole Wheat Bread." Recipe is in the photo, below. Baked on the whole wheat cycle in the Breadman TR2500BC machine. This recipe is from the manual for this bread machine. I had milk and cottage cheese I want to use up, so I decided to try this recipe. I made a 2# loaf, using 50/50 KA whole wheat and Walmart bread flours, dark (like buckwheat honey), 1 package of Aldi instant yeast. I set the machine for dark crust. It's quite dark but not burned. I'd probably use light crust like I usually do, if making this again. I had to add maybe 2.5 TBSP extra water, a teaspoon at a time, to get the dough to be pliable instead of stiff. The KA whole wheat usually requires sightly more water. Good flavor. You might want to use sweeter honey or dark brown sugar and more of it, if you like a sweet flavor. I don't want mine sweet. Pictures didn't want to insert correctly, but I'm not going to fight them anymore. They are where they wanted to go, haha.

Okay, I searched but did not find mention of this recall. The meters with the known E-5 error problem have now been recalled. FDA is advising people to contact their healthcare providers and get/use another means of measuring glucose. I haven't seen any strategy announced for providing replacement meters to customers. "...As of January 16, 2026, Trividia Health has reported 114 serious injuries and one death associated with this issue..." with the meters.

Someone in the Onn streaming sub told me that the Spectrum app became available for Onn on April 15. I installed it today on my Onn 4k Pro V1. But I had to search for it via the Apps on the Onn box, then find Spectrum TV, and install it from the Onn itself. Trying to do it from Google playstore via computer, Android tablet, or Android phone won't find any compatible app as of 4/27/26. I don't see any mention of it on Spectrum's site yet.
