The Night Court standing by while innocent lives are taken

Did anyone else kinda side eye that line in the blurb?

Like there are innocents on NC that are getting abused and wing clipped every day from the villages to Hewn City. What about the innocents of Spring (who were refugees..) who lost their homes because of revenge? The lesser fae in Summer, which I guess they did step in and help after Varian sent word (granted it was their fault summer was attacked…).

I also remember that Rhys helped Clare when she was captured but he could have not given Amy her name. 😅 Like I get the sentiment of them being the “misunderstood good guys” but they don’t have a problem with innocent lives being taken. Granted this will all probably be retconned in the next books so whatever.

I know I know, Im going off of a blurb and overthinking it. This is just a small mini rant but it just stuck out to me and I needed to get it out 😂

Just finished Anathema and Eldritch by Keri Lake

Just finished those books and General Loyce better get a drawn out and painful death! She doesn’t deserve a quick exit from this series. She’s the standard I will hold villains to now because man I love to hate her.

I’m also a little heartbroken about Theon- I did not see that twist coming. Also Zevander is so traumatized but he’s such a great character.

That’s all, I’m just shocked and sad that I have to wait until the next book.

Everlasting- Alex Harrow wowza.. Spoilers

I just finished this book and it was so different but I have so many feelings. I loved it but man now I’m just sitting here staring at the wall. I had never read a time traveling type book before but it was so interesting. This prose was so different and I loved it.

My heart was BROKEN for the children they had to leave behind. The constant running and wanting to be together was so much to handle. I loved the ending but it almost didn’t feel enough.

Crown Me Dead/ Crown me yours

I just finished this duet and I am both happy and heartbroken. This wasn’t as intense as Feathers So Vicious but I liked it better than The Pale Court duet. It has gory parts but they aren’t as detailed as the Pale Court ( maggots and death- the FMCs is a Gravedigger)

Definitely recommend though and I wish the book was a slower pace so I could have enjoyed it longer 😅❤️

I do wish we saw smaller time jumps and spent more time with the couple but for what was there, it was precious!

Now I need a minute and need to pick something else to help me through this 😅

I have to say I am loving Kathryn Ann Kingsley! I read {Harrow Faire by Kathryn Ann Kingsley} and loved Simon and his insane, villiany devotion. I just finished the first 4 books of the Unseelie Series {The Unseelie Prince by Kathryn Ann Kingsley} and again, I loved Valroy and his villainous love. I loved the world building with the Maze and the Seelie and Unseelie woods.

There were very folklore different looking Faeries with interesting magic ( not just good looking humans with magic). I don’t know what different trope it is but Kathryn makes such sympathetic villains and “bad guys” to the main characters. You really can’t hate anyone it is so refreshing! You really have to wrestle with where everyone stands. It’s great tension!

I also loved the FMCs. I usually get tired of the super young and easily super powered women but the FMCs are so level headed, compassionate and you get to see their inner struggle and growth.

Alright, I am on book 5 of the Fever Series by Karen Moning and I am loving Mac and her character growth. For a FMC, I admire that she coming into her own while still trying to be understanding and still be kind. Overall, I just like her! {Shadow Fever by Karen Moning}

However, I’m not feeling the love between her and Barrons and I’d like to know if that changes. I understand and see the devotion and loyalty between them and how he has saved her life multiple times but he could have done all that for his own benefit, not for her.

I guess it just bothers me how secretive he is about everything! I get the whole “secretive shadow daddy” vibe with being mysterious and secretive but I hate that Mac has to go to him to talk about anything and she has to always find key information out by herself. Then to find out that Barron already knew about it. I know Vlane can’t be trusted much but at least he answers questions and tries to make her smile and be happy. I’m just feeling that from Barrons.

Did anyone else feel the same?
