I've joined the party (Snowsky Echo Nano)
I did a lot of research before deciding to order this, but am so glad I did.
I'm old enough (unfortunately...see the last image for what my very first MP3 player was) to have been a teenager when the Creative Muvo first came out with no screen and 64mb of memory and Winamp was the media player of choice for most people. "acquiring" music and burning our own CDs was considered fun. Managing metadata was just part of what you had to do. I miss those simple times and wanted to get back to them.
The echo nano does pretty much that. Yes, my first mp3 player had 18 hours off a Single AA battery...but it didn't have a DAC, couldn't play lossless audio and only had 256mb of storage...So 7 hours of battery life is fine for me.
Getting it set-up was a breeze (I'd seen posts pointing out issues, I experienced none)...Download new firmware...install new firmware...Format SD card in my reader not the device to exFat. Put all the music on (ALAC files for those interested...put into the player and we were away. As easy as that.
For $67 Australian Dollars I could not be happier with the purchase. It sounds great on my IE400 Pros...a bit muffled and bassy on the IE4s I have lying around....I may pick up some Apple EarPods....I know...I'm committing an Audiophile crime...but I feel like they'll be more comfortable to wear and less conspicuous in an office setting...
Definitely recommend it!
