The Imperial War Museum's He 162, which has been undergoing restoration at Duxford for a few years. With the post-war paint removed from the wings, you can see the post-capture RAF markings, plus the last faint traces of the original German markings.

Me and a couple of others have just crossed over from the UK to France for a long-planned tour....

But the traffic volume here is literally insane. I never thought it'd be this bad and at times we feel quite unsafe. Can anybody suggest quiet eastward routes we might take to avoid all this.

PS.... any recommendations for good night-life in Berlin?

The Huáscar had been taken over by rebels seeking to overthrow the Peruvian government. They had been harassing commercial shipping so the British sought to recapture the ship with the authorisation of the Peruvian government

However the British lacked armour-piercing shells. Despite scoring numerous hits, they were unable to significantly damage the Huáscar. Meanwhile the rebels hadn't the numbers to effectively crew the Huáscar's guns, so minimal damage was inflicted on the much faster British ships.

The British fired a torpedo at the Huáscar, but it missed. The rebels escaped under the cover of darkness but surrendered to the Peruvian government two days later.

The Huáscar survives to this day as a museum ship in Chile

• You spend weeks researching and writing a high-quality wikipedia article on a topic of interest to you.

• You see an article in a big mainstream publication on that same topic. Naturally it draws your attention.

• You read whole sentences and paragraphs of your own words, and realize the fuckers have just done a cut and paste with a slight rewording.
