Enslaver Challenge Reminder

Enslaver Challenge Reminder

For those who have chosen to participate in the Open Challenge to build an Enslaver, I am Very excited to see what you have Created.

The date set for the big reveal was June 1st, which is just over a week away! Anyone who doesn't finish by that time or decides to start late... there is no real cut off date and I hope you will give it a try and share what you come up with.

Personally, my first attempt didn't go as i wanted, so i started over... then halfway through decided to try to salvage the first attempt as well.... so i ended up building two. Still, I got mine built fairly quickly and was happy with how they turned out but have been struggling with getting them painted. I always struggle with the painting part.

I am confident I will have them adequately finished by the first tho.

Advice on painting floors

Need painting advice. I tend to build things just because I have a thought, but then never get around to painting ans doing the final touches that would make them 'finished'.

A while back i realized most terrain builds don't really include flooring and having that 40k floor tile really makes a difference. So I carved some out of nylon gasket material. Now I need to paint and finish them but really don't know what to do. No idea what colors would look good or if I should try to marble it or weather it.

Any advice or suggestions would be apreciated.

Open Challenge:

I have always been interested in the obscure and seldom talked about races in the 40k universe. (Medusae, Zoat, Ambull, Catachan Devils, Jokero, Slaugth, and the Rak'Gol just to name afew.

The Enslavers were always one of my favorites, and for quite a while (years), I have wanted to build one or more Enslavers but just never have. I think i am finally going to do it, but I thought it would be really cool if a few people would join me and we could all see different peoples versions of enslavers. If people decide to participate, maybe we could choose another one to do down the road.

So, I issue this public challenge. Since this is Poorhammer, the preference is toward low-cost construction, and I always prefer scratch built to modifying another expensive model, but kitbashes will also be allowed.

Initially (if anyone decides to participate), I will arbitrarily say we have until June 1st....

.... but even if someone sees this late and decides to join in years from now, I would still like to see what they come up with.

I set out to make a swirling portal to add to my terrain. Was just kinda winging it, but I think it turned out OK. Suggestions for improvement are always welcome.

A while back i decided to build Deathworld Forest terrain. Got so wrapped up in carnivorous trees that I forgot to build the Spines. So I figured I would make a quick tutorial while I was working on them.
