Anniversary Addition - How to Avoid Stalemates?
I’m a pretty new player and am playing AE 1941. I’m playing all factions to get a feel for the various strategies and also because I don’t have a reliable group to play with. I get that playing this way makes it impossible to feign a strategy or surprise an opponent, but it still seems like the game can/should quickly devolve into a stalemate if Russia falls. At that point, it seems like Germany’s economy is large enough that if the Axis just hunkers down and goes into defense mode, it will be nearly impossible for either side to achieve 18 victory cities. I assume I went wrong in the early rounds of the game and there are early openers that may have set the board down a different path. Open to any tips from the more experienced players! For context, Germany just ended their turn after retaking Northwestern Europe and Norway, and mobilizing new troops in Germany and Caucuses.
