She was going on about how "gay men" don't belong in women's restrooms and same with "gay women" don't belong in men's.
Which is REALLY ass backwards logic. To the point I don't know if she's actually a bigot or just GROSSLY misinformed.
Silver lining in all this- I guess I pass well enough that people think they can be transphobic around me.

It's been (five weeks since you looked at me) a very lucrative month, so I've been treating myself to a collection of Old Navy blazers (when they go on sale).
I've been losing weight lately, so I got them all as a xl rather than a 2xl. Hopefully I get to the point I can comfortably button them up this year!
In the meantime, I hope open blazer is an acceptable look.
Some annoying news- I learned my co worker is trans/queerphobic. Either that or just grossly ill informed. She kept saying things like "gay men" (referring to trans women) don't belong in women's bathrooms, and the same for "gay women" in men's bathrooms.
The silver lining is I guess I pass very well. Well enough that folks like this feel comfortable saying shit like this infront of me. A true landmark for all stealth folks.

Not much to report this week. New job is still going well enough. Still have a case of the Sunday scaries, haha. The weekend is too SHORT!

I found the best shirt (pictured) at Walmart yesterday for under 20$. I don't usually browse the shirts when I'm there for groceries... but I'm very glad I did!

I also went a bit ham while looking for anime figures to spruce up my janitors closet/office at work. I eventually decided i didn't wanna take them to work afterall, though, where they could be potentially stolen. They're too good! So they've been added to my weeb corner (which has been filling out nicely and has some updates).
Maybe I'll get a boring fake plant or something to put on the desk in there instead.

Romie is doing great. I'm trying to get better about combing her more now that it's summer.
Yesterday (June 13th) I went to a local Pride event. The night before I posted a bunch of outfits here to see other's opinions about what outfit to wear. A lot of folks brought up the very wise point that I was there to celebrate my identity and protest for my rights, so I went with the ftm tank top. It got a few compliments!
Gay pac man (my tattoo) wasn't ever noticed, unfortunately.

I went there with three goals in mind.
I wanted to sign the local petition against a data center they're in the process of building near me, find a small mlm flag to put on my wall, and pick up the BBQ Mac n cheese from a food truck that's normally there every year.

Unfortunately I was only able to get the first one done. Though, it WAS the most important one, so I'll consider it a win.
There were NO mlm flags at any of the booths this year! Lame!

Ah! But speaking of the booths, the company I just started cleaning for had a tent there! That was a VERY welcome sight.

I ended up ordering bbq mac n cheese from a nearby restaurant because my usual food truck ALSO wasn't there this year.
LAME!!

I stayed at pride for a whopping hour and a half before I got overwhelmed and had to go home. I don't do well in crowds.

My summer shirts are back in full swing!
More importantly, I started my first full time job (in a decade) on Monday. I'm a janitor at a nearby steel plant. It's going really well so far! The guys there seem to like me and are pretty friendly so far. One weird thing is they have a big gay shower curtain in the men's locker room shower (pictured in the last photo). There's no derogatory remarks written on it, so I'm deciding that it was put up unironically and without malice. It IS a very blue collared, straight man dominated work space though, which makes me a bit nervous about it's symbolism though. Either way, happy pride(?)
Yesterday I decorated my lunch and water containers. Really queer'd up my water bottle, but in a way I don't think anyone will really notice. I still don't know the temperature there towards the queer community, despite the shower curtain, but I also wanted to express myself subtly. I think the janitor Spike Spiegal on my lunch pail is particularly accurate.
Surprisingly the extra hours aren't overwhelming like I thought they'd be. For context I was on ssdi for many years and could afford to work only 3 hours a day to cover rent. They recently decided I'm no longer disabled, thus why I'm working full time now. Pretty shitty situation, but I'm pleasantly surprised that I'm handling full time job well. If it's still this chill in a month I might cancel my appeal and just keep working this way.
This weekend I went HAM when cleaning my apartment. I Marie Kondo'd just about everything and found a bunch of weeb and furry shit in my closet that I could use to fill up my previously sparse pin board.
Hopefully this week goes as well as last week!
First some great news- After her bout of pancreaitis Romie is doing WAY BETTER. She has her morning zoomies back!
Also, I shaved and wore my contacts on Friday, and got ao many compliments about my eyes and cheek bones at work. That felt really good.
Friday was also my last day there, so it was bitter sweet. I'll be starting my first full time job in about a decade tomorrow. Not looking forward to waking up before 6am, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Hopefully it goes well. I'm quite nervous.
Some not so good news this week, I'm afraid.
They're taking me off my SSDI benefits because I "am better and can work a less difficult job than in the past".
What does that even MEAN?! *throws table out of the window*
So I'm losing my main source of income...
But to be fair, things DID get better for me mentally thanks to transitioning and being on a good cocktail of medication.
I appealed the decision, but also applied to a full time job just in case my appeal doesn't go anywhere.
Putting my eggs in multiple baskets.
I haven't been able to work more than 3 hours a day since I've gone on disability due to said disability, so it's gonna be tough.
I'm super anxious about all this, but no matter what happens it'll all work out.
Cause I'll MAKE it all work out.
Romie is still doing great. Much better than she was when she had pancreaitis.
Not much to report on my end of things. Work is going well. I also cemented my asexual identity last night after an awkward "encounter" from grindr.
Romie was sick with pancreaitis last week and was throwing up everything she ate and eventually stopped eating.
After a few vet visits I'm happy to report she's doing MUCH better. She's eating and drinking like a champ and hasn't thrown up in over a week!
I started my new job on Tuesday, and just had my first two day weekend in YEARS (I worked mon-sat at the job I left). The job is good so far! Even though it's the same type of employment as my old job (janitor) this one is a lot more physical. I also have to get used to working with co workers (i used to work alone). So it's gonna take some getting used to.
Poor Romie has pancreaitis. She was throwing all her food back up after I got back from a four day trip to Atlanta on Monday evening and eventually stopped eating. I took her to the vet on Thursday and they gave her some meds and did some blood work. She's still pretty sick, but much better than she was. We have a follow up tomorrow (Monday).
Good vibes for Romie, please! She's my sun and stars!
