Steps after car accident
I was T-boned pretty badly earlier today heading to grab lunch. The red car is mine and the blue car is the other drivers. I was pretty shaken up because the air bag hit me hard in the chest and face, I ended up getting cuts on my forehead and I may have rib bruises. I’ll likely get scans if pain progresses but was prescribed muscle relaxers at an urgent care.
Honestly, I have never been in an accident before so I wasn’t aware I was supposed to ask for the other persons insurance on the spot. A police report was made and I was given a paper detailing where my car was towed and where to go to pick up the crash report. There was also a car in front of me that I hit and he saw the entire thing and that is on the report, he was yelling at the other guy while I was pretty dazed asking what happened. I’m not at fault here
I honestly don’t know where to even begin, I don’t have the crash report yet but do I still contact my insurance? All I have is a paper with a complaint number? I was able to drive my car deeper into the grass, I’m guessing it’s totaled?
Im not sure how any of this works, I’m seeking some guidance.
