Somalis/Galbeed deserve independence

I used to be one who would want to keep them but I have realized they would most likely hurt the country more than help it due to their secessionist ideas to either join somalia or make their own country. Some Somalis have even said they want to use our country to develop themselves until they get the time to secede which made me laugh. To me it actually works in our favor having Somali Region removed due to them realizing they should have been grateful and thankful to be under the Ethiopian federation and not mogadishu. So they will end up asking to re join because they will realize being part of Ethiopia is better because just look at jigjiga right now.

Somali region is wealthy due to “Ethiopian occupation“ but it doesn’t even matter anyway about arguing that what I want is more Somalis to be pro independence because I want them to see the consequence of their action and hate towards Ethiopian. They should be grateful to be under Ethiopia! They always said they would stop using Ethiopian airlines lol that never happened I can add more but you get the jist it only works in Ethiopian favor because they can’t run a country themselves. One funny thing I bet most don’t know is Somalia federal system is based off Ethiopia they copied our whole system.
Love to all Somalis

I’m done I give up trying to help Eritreans understand why joining Ethiopia is a better option.

I have always said the Eplf winning was a win for all of us and Eplf should have joined the Eprdf and should have built Ethiopia up with meles. I have tried spreading unity between our peoples but all I have received is extreme amounts of downvotes. You guys have been brainwashed into hating Ethiopians and it seems like you lot are ready to undergo another 50 years of isaias or just be a weak country with no regrets while telling Ethiopians who are trying to help and improve Eritrea (“their people”) to screw off. I wanted Eritrea to join peacefully no war still no one wants to agree with me I especially want them to join when we stop all wars and have peace and harmony and justice as well that would be the best time to ease them in as well as more success develops and wealth, infrastructures and education in Ethiopia. I guess independence matter more while people live terribly back home in singapore! Eritrean most prideful moments are war and telling Ethiopians online to screw off. The funny thing about all this is if you gave Eritreans back home the opportunity to join Ethiopia while also letting them have information and knowledge they would 100% vote to rejoin but diaspora pfdj will combat what I say and say I am wrong people love being complacent and listening to Eri-Tv everyday like a robot. I understand having pride and being happy about independence but man let’s get real Ethiopia would be better taking over right now even with all the problems they have. We should have joined each other eprdf letting eplf split was a sad thing. I pray for Eritrea but the diaspora is the worst man they are weak plain simple they are way too complacent and don’t have people ready to die to free eritrea. There is somehow still a big following of DIA in 2026 by the diaspora as they always have supported him since becoming Eritrea only president being known as the North Korea of africa as well as being known for having over thousands of prison across the country with no information coming out ever. So I just give up it seems like people are okay and complacent with the status quo as long as Ethiopia is a threat and even if it’s not a threat they would still be okay with the status quo and their genocidal low educated military (shubiyah) who commits the most heinous war crimes in east africa. We are one people but my faith is now in nhamedu now that’s who I hope takes power in the future with or without the help of Ethiopia beside that god bless Eritrea I hope eritrea is free with or without Ethiopian support.

Who’s with me?: I don’t support Amhara Rebels I don’t support OLA/OLF/Oromo Rebels I don’t support Tigray Rebels I don’t support Abiy/PP I support everyone getting justice and accountability as well as all wars stopping as well as future wars never occurring.

Who’s with me?: This is what I want and what everyone who loves mother Ethiopia🇪🇹 should want. Stop the Fano War Amhara rebels need to surrender and same for Oromo rebels to stop and surrender and for Tigray rebels to stop and surrender to ENDF. We need to let the children go to school and for daily life to be back to normal as soon as possible. We need to help and fix our country without fighting even if you don’t like Abiy just support advocating or just supporting opposition or others don’t ever support picking up arms. People on r/amhara and r/tigray and r/oromia support more fighting and separation which will never be allowed as well as waging more civil wars in our country which has already seen the devastation of war.

Specifically for Amharas their region has more support for the Gov and just today 30k plus have surrendered to ENDF and most Amhara civilians doesn’t want Fano to fight but their subreddit will tell you the opposite and if you support what I say they will call you Oromo. Same thing for the Oromo subreddit where they won’t admit their own crimes as well as tegaru it’s the same for the Tigray subreddit as well too just check the TPF/Simret Facebook groups and more you can find it all makes it seem like they have majority Tigray support but on r/tigray they all support debre clique and can change how you view things. All these people are hardliners you don’t regularly see. I support opposition and justice and no hate speech as well as accountability for all what I don’t support is picking up arms and hurting the country even more. Most people don’t like Abiy genuinely they only like him because he is anti those 3 groups who cause Ethiopia trouble and spread hate speech which helps him receive support by the larger Ethiopian community as well as mixed people when he himself has been an instigator in most issues.

Edit: Amhara and Tigray subreddits both removed my latest posts and banned me due to being angry I criticized them in my post Lol.

I pray to God and hope that people in these ethnic subreddits get no power in the future.

So much hate speech on all sides Amhara,Oromo and Tegaru. If you pay attention to these subreddit closely you notice these are the type of peoples who have these genocidal mindsets and spread hateful rhetoric. The crazy thing too me is lots of people support hateful rhetoric just because they had hateful rhetoric spoken to them! That’s not right you should beat hate down with love and make peace even if they hate you. I wonder why they act like this all the way in the diaspora I can understand your grievances but pushing hate right back is such a terrible things lots do sadly. Am I the only one who thinks like this? I just want peace and harmony with everyone I know mostly in Addis people are just like me. We should strive for a greater Ethiopia where we live in peace and where we have justice and accountability for all crimes committed especially during wars. I hope someone with a mindset like me takes power we are all one. We need to stop this hate speech between Ethiopians on Reddit please lets spread positive things and positivity we are all a big family🙏🇪🇹

Thank you EPLF who crushed the derg!

I wonder why the derg was so brutal I had just seen a documentary they were insane and ruthless no mercy type of government! It makes sense why EPLF/EPRDF and the monarchy had connection! Even though Eritrea became a country atleast we all were freed from Derg is something we all can agree on to this day Derg members are being jailed which I am happy for. I’m pretty sure they got dealt with in prison. Thank you EPLF for the struggle to free Ethiopia with EPRDF this will be forever remembered!

Since the ELF was crushed by the EPLF did the lowland Muslim groups (Tigre, Afar, Saho) have hatred due to them doing the heavy work to start the revolution and having the most sacrificed only for the highland kebessa to hijack the victory at the end?

  • In the First Eritrean Civil War (1972–1974), an estimated 3,000 rebel fighters were killed. At the time, this internal fighting caused more combatant deaths than all 13 prior years of fighting the Ethiopian government.
  • The Final Blow: In the Second Eritrean Civil War (1980–1981), the EPLF launched a massive, coordinated campaign that completely defeated the ELF, killing thousands more and forcing the remaining ELF fighters to flee into Sudan.

Crimes Committed by the ELF

  1. The 1969 Purge of the "Siriyat Addis" (Addis Group): The ELF leadership executed between 200 and 300 educated Christian highland fighters and dozens of peasants on the mere, unproven suspicion that they were Ethiopian infiltration agents.
  2. The Liquidation Resolutions of 1972: At its Second National Congress, the ELF officially passed resolutions declaring all other rebel splinter factions illegal, effectively greenlighting a war of extermination against the emerging EPLF.
  3. Assassinations of Splinter Leaders: The ELF targeted and assassinated key internal reformists who tried to defect or criticize the command structure, including the prominent killings of fighters Wolday Giday and Kidane Kiflu in Kassala, Sudan.
  4. Execution of Civilians at Adi Aret (1976): ELF units rounded up, blindfolded, and executed over 10 local villagers accused of spying or favoring rival factions, forcing the remaining townspeople to dig the graves to terrorize the community.
  5. The Battle of Woki & Zager (1974): The ELF engaged the EPLF-PLF in a bloody, multi-day battle just 18 km from Asmara, resulting in 600 dead rebel fighters in a single engagement before desperate civilian protesters physically marched onto the battlefield to force a ceasefire.
  6. The Liquidation of Harakat Fighters (1965)
  7. Before the EPLF existed, the ELF targeted the Eritrean Liberation Movement (ELM)—known locally as Harakat. Harakat was a secular, urban-based political movement advocating for independence. Viewing them as direct rivals for leadership over the revolution, the ELF military command launched an armed campaign to eliminate them, tracking down and killing their fighters to secure a monopoly over the armed struggle.

1. The Execution of the 27 Fighters (1967)

In 1967, the ELF was organized into five distinct, semi-autonomous geographic zones. This structure caused severe regionalism and tribal friction. When a group of 27 fighters under the fifth zonal division objected to the commands of their regional leadership and demanded structural reform, they were labeled mutineers. The deputy commander, Hishal, ordered all 27 fighters to be summarily executed by firing squad.

2. The Crushing of the "Falul" Movement (1977)

In the mid-1970s, a massive internal democratic reform movement arose within the rank-and-file of the ELF, driven by young, educated recruits. Known as the Falul (Anarchists/Rebels), they demanded a restructuring of the ELF's Revolutionary Council, an end to corruption, and immediate democratic accountability. In response, the ELF high command utilized its elite loyalist battalions to militarily surround, disarm, and physically purge the Falul units, arresting or killing hundreds of their own fighters to protect the leadership's centralized power.

3. Extrajudicial Killing of Dissident Leaders (1971)

The ELF regularly executed high-profile internal reformists who questioned the leadership's regional or religious biases. A prominent example was Dr. Fitsum, an educated former student activist from Addis Ababa University. After he publicly accused the ELF executive committee of assassinating other internal reformists (like Kidane Kiflu and Wolday Giday), he mysteriously "disappeared" and was executed by ELF fighters in 1971.

4. Weaponized Regional "Zone" Purges (1960s)

During the zonal era, ELF commanders routinely used their regional military power to ethnically clean or marginalize internal factions. For instance, commanders from certain zones would intentionally cut off food, ammunition, and medical supplies to battalions composed of fighters from rival ethnic or regional groups, effectively sending them into battles against the Ethiopian army without support to ensure their elimination.

Crimes Committed by the EPLF

  1. The Elimination of the "Menka" Movement (1973–1974): Early in its formation, the EPLF leadership under Isaias Afwerki ruthlessly purged its own internal leftist intellectual dissidents (known as the Menkaor "Bats") who demanded democratic accountability, executing its leaders via firing squads.
  2. The Destruction of the "Yemin" Faction: Parallel to the Menka purge, the EPLF systematically rounded up, imprisoned, or executed members of the Yemin (Rightist) faction to enforce absolute, central ideological conformity.
  3. The 1980 TPLF-Alliance Encirclement: To deliver the final blow to the ELF during the Second Civil War, the EPLF formed a clandestine alliance with the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF), utilizing thousands of foreign Tigrayan fighters to trap, ambush, and decisively crush the ELF forces.
  4. Post-War Hunting of ELF Remnants in Sudan: Following the ELF's retreat to Sudan, EPLF security networks operated cross-border operations to track down, abduct, or assassinate exiled ELF political organizers in refugee camps to prevent the front from reorganizing.
  5. The Post-Independence Erasure and Mass Arrests (1991 onward): Upon winning the war, the EPLF banned the ELF from returning to Eritrea as a political party. Throughout the 1990s, security forces arrested and permanently "disappeared" hundreds of former ELF veterans who attempted to repatriate or advocate for a multi-party system.
