Possible asbestos cardboards falling apart inside every room in my wife's summer home, are we cooked?
My wife's family's cottage in Slovakia (central Europe), built in the 1970's. Her parents and grandparents died years ago so we have no exact information.
Under every electrical switch or chandelier there is greyish cardboard that I suspect is asbestos (we will get it tested soon). As far as I know, nobody has cut or touched them, but due to age they are decaying and you can see rough surface with fibres. Worst thing is that these cardboards are in every room, totally exposed.
Please tell me how bad is this, if you also think this is asbestos. My wife used to spend at least one month (also sleeping here) every summer here since she was a baby. Also my wife's brother spends at least two months in total every year in this cottage with his two underaged kids. I'm horrified that none of them has ever been concerned s despite looking at it for years. Unfortunately I also noticed only after my 10th visit of the cottage. :( Are we all in danger? Especially my wife since she has been exposed her whole life? :(
