Last minute trip to Napoli - hotel area?

Hi guys! I've decided to book a last-minute (sorta) trip to Naples for 4 nights, last week of July, with my gf.
I'm deciding on hotels, but have no idea what neighborhood is "ideal" to stay at. Had my eye on a hotel near 'Municipio' metro station, as well as one near 'Museo'.

What is most convenient in terms of walking distance to metro stations, restaurants, historical centre, a day trip to Pompeii/Amalfi coast, etc? Any neighborhoods to avoid in terms of safety?

Appreciate any help, thanks a lot.
