Work permit expired due to passport expiry
Hi everyone,
my work permit expired on Oct 5 2026 due to passport expiry, I have since applied for a new one since July but I did a paper application as stated by IRCC, the work permit was issued in March 4 2024, so realistically following the 3 year pgwp it supposed to expire in March 2027, I have not heard from IRCC since i sent in paper application in July, i have explained things to my employer and submitted proof of extension ( receipt of payment for extension, courier delivery to IRCC, copy of application form) as paper application do not generate a letter to show your employer, luckily my employer accepted. I work for a hospital and my Noc is 41404, I have 88 points even though I need to max celpip, I had a CLB 6 as the lowest in my score. my question is if I don’t receive a decision from IRCC for the remaining months in my pgwp can I continue working pass March 2027 which is the supposed time my pgwp is supposed to expire. also what advise do anyone have for me, can I do lmia? I know lmia is risky but any advice will be appreciated
