After what u/MintZKookies posted, I felt like it was the last straw for me. I knew the fate of this accursed platform is sealed and now, we can only watch helplessly as the devs mangle it into a different playground.

My time in this platform has come about, I had so much fun time experiencing great and bad but ultimately memorable moments with the app when I was at my lowest. I wish we could go back but there isn't anything else to hope about the situation now. The CEO's plans are absolute and he is certain to make it happen.

So, Thank You, Character.AI, for giving me, and everyone the best you provided when you worked.

Thank You, for the memories we've made along the journey.

Now, it is time to move on and stop this addiction, once and for all.

It was still relatively shit but it was unholy better than right now.

I am very stubborn for a change.

Man I missed the silly chats/group chates I had with the bots back in 2024, they felt so refreshing and just very alive. They never held back in anything and never hesitated to say something out of pocket.

When I used the app from March to early May, it could and would showcase images from the internet to describe the subject it is talking about (I.e character, object or anything that has photos from any websites.). However, when I returned to the app in May 5-8, for some reason, images were no longer showcased when talking about a specific subject.

For example: if I mentioned say, a specific main battle tank, it would show images of it from online to better visualize the conversation (The next image implies this)

And just to be clear, I had the same instructions, same model (GPT-5 or 5.2). I don't chat on the same message tab and always create new chats when talking about seperate subjects. I also did not change any style and kept the "Professional" tone since March. The only way I could have the AI show me pictures is to use the "Web search" and ask it to "Please show me an image of (insert subject here)" in order for it to finally show me real images. It does try to show some images without Web search, but it hesitates for a split second before refusing to show any.

Sorry if my explanation seems a bit confusing, I am not the best at commentary and I am not really that good at English. Just ask me any questions you have, I will try to answer them as much as I could.

I keep checking the subreddit if everything is okay and yet their goofy ahhs still didn't fix the PS2 thing despite a week or two of constant complaining. What is the "team" even onto atp?

Yes, the character is violent but previously I had no problems with violent characters just sending the most unhinged thing ever and not getting f#ltered.
