Overall, it seems clear that academia is democrat leaning seeing as apart from Hillsdale and Liberty there are far more democrats on conservative leaning campuses than vice versa. Its no surprise that there are several women's colleges on the most democratic (Scripps, Wellesley, Mount Holyoke, Smith, etc.)

If another 9/11 style attack were to happen, what do you think happens to Trump’s approval?

Famously bush’s approval skyrocketed after 9/11 to almost or just about 90% after 9/11. Could a similar effect happen today? Why or why not?

r/yapms takes the liberal side of the issue most of the time, but on comfortableness with carrying guns in public spaces, r/yapms roughly aligns with the general public

In fact, much less people on the subreddit took the 'not at all comfortable' position on guns in public(20%) compared with 31% among the general public. I assume this is because 95% of the users on here are male though.

Regarding Texas, it is a very religious state (75% consider religion to be extremely/somewhat important). If the Talarico quote is real and in-context, it will cause trouble for him.

Not a terribly smart idea to diss religion in a heavily religious state....

https://texaspolitics.utexas.edu/files/202604_POLL_TOPLINES-1d319c0b.pdf

The poll also had more people identify as pro-choice than pro-life as well, so it isn't just singling out religious people either.

In all likelihood, JFK didn't need to go to Texas in November of '63 and would have won the election in '64 even without Texas.

His final approval rating in November of 1963 was still strongly positive, 58-30. It was weaker than before, but still well over 50%. He was a strong favorite to defeat Goldwater in the election the next year and even if the rift within the Texas democratic party (which JFK's trip to Texas was intended to mend) caused conservatives to support Goldwater in the election he would have more than made up with it in other states in the Non-southern regions of America.

After all, Johnson did just that irl even though he lost much of the south because of civil rights.

In 2024, why did so many more people vote for a 3rd party in the Senate/downballot races compared to the Presidential election?

For example, the total 3rd party vote in the 2024 Senate election in PA amounted to 2.59%, compared to only 0.96% for the Presidential race. Broadly speaking, the same trend repeated itself in Wisconsin, Ohio, Arizona, etc. If I had to guess, it would probably be an expression of apathy from voters who aren't strongly wedded to either democrats or republicans regarding downballot races.
