Any good books on how the German people rehabilitated/dealt the national shame of the Holocaust?

I just watched the ninth episode of Band of Brothers and a huge element is the question of whether the local Germans knew what was happening. Nazism was clearly a wide movement and it’s disdain for their hated groups wasn’t subtle.

I am very interested in how Germany rehabilitated itself and dealt with the shame of their horrors. Bonus points on if there’s a book that discusses the parallels of the actions taken after WW2 Germany and The American Civil War South.

Looking to do a multiple person podcast but we all live in different cities.

I'm considering starting a podcast with my childhood friends, akin to what The Ringer has with The Midnight Boys about media (working on narrowing our focus). The problem is that we all live in different cities and they don't already own microphones. I currently have a Blue Yeti Mic and my biggest question is if we'd all need to have the same microphone set up or if it'll sound weird.

If we did it, the biggest thing would obviously be to just start and get content out there, but I'd like to avoid unnecessary pitfalls!

Who's held the title of "America's Dad" after Andy Griffith in the 60s?

I'm thinking obviously Bill Cosby (before the fall from grace), Bob Saget, maybe Bryan Cranston and Steve Carrell, are there any other people who's dad characters are so iconic that they've been culturally codified as father figures?

Some Thoughts on The Ube and Matcha Supply Crisis {Substack Post}

Matcha and Ube products are everywhere. I was first introduced to them via milk tea but they're in ice cream, french toast, and seemingly everything these days. This boom in demand as these ingredients become viral leads to a increase in price and a dilution of the cultural significance of these very culturally linked ingredients.

Do people even know that Ube is a Filipino ingredient?

It's worrisome what is happening and I wrote about it at length in my substack, read at the link below!

Henry Cavill's Latest Movie "In The Grey" Review

Henry has a new movie with Guy Ritchie in theaters at the moment and while it's not the best, it's the last time we'll see him in theaters likely before his Highlander movie (release date not confirmed) with Chad Stahelski.

Check out if it's worth your time with this review on Substack
