Does anyone else live in a fairly cross-border community?

Does anyone else live in a fairly cross-border community?

This is the color guard at the start of our Independence Day parade this morning. Canadian flag representation is (and always has been) fairly commonplace here. We have a large population of people, relatively-speaking, who speak Québécois as their first language. Did Canada get representation in anyone else’s festivities today?

Explain it like I’m 5-What is the deal with the “1947 law.”

I hear it brought up ALL the time. I understand that there are multiple interpretations of how it may or may not still be relevant. Can someone summarize? I am lost on the explanations no matter what opinion I am reading because it seems to assume that the audience has a background knowledge. I don’t. I understand that it has something to do with possible nuances in how many generations that approvals could be limited to (or not), what is that hypothetical number? What is important to understand?

Where will part 2 go if birth country doesn’t have a Canadian embassy?

I’ve just submitted part 1 for both of my children. So naturally I have time to overthink.

Both children (biological relatives) were born in a country that doesn’t have a Canadian embassy. I know that adopting children from this country to Canada was more challenging due to this fact. Canadians had to travel to the embassy in a neighboring country to complete the process where Americans could take the subway to the USA one.

But the USA state laws where we live really encouraged us to readopt in the USA, even though the country was part of The Hague agreements. Both children have a foreign adoption decree for which I have the certified and apostilled translation. Decree mentioning the law why there won’t be an “original” birth certificate. Also a birth certificate from that country also with a certified translation. Also have a USA state-issued adoption decree and birth certificate.

Where is part 2 likely to go? LA or the random Canadian embassy that’s in the country closest to where they were born?

Shipping the Part I with the rest of the family’s C3?

Can we ship the Part I application in the same envelope as other family’s C3 applications? I note that the courier address is the same.

As a parent to minor children, who have cousins that are submitting their C3s with a larger family group, we are doing our best to make the processes seem identical to my children who would not understand being treated differently.

CIT 0010 form won’t open

Does anyone have a link to a non-paywalled copy?

The link on the official Canadian website just shows the image no matter what we try to open it on.

Our family has 2 situations going simultaneously. 5 of us in 3 generations are sending in for citizenship certificates under the C3 bill. We will be sending these off soon

My 2 children were adopted from Eastern Europe to the USA 10+ years ago in their Eastern European country and then the process was repeated in the USA. There are legal/personal safeguards in place for them due to the personal circumstances of their adoptions and a birth certificate with their birth mother’s name would be actually illegal for anyone to attempt to obtain.

I’m told I should send Part 1 (in a different envelope) at the same time the rest of us send our paperwork? What should I be sending in with it? Similar or same documents that are going for the rest of us?

Is sending the current Eastern European and USA birth certificate appropriate for the in part 2? If so which one, again I adopted them twice in two different countries. Eastern Europe first then USA.

Is a copy of a now expired EU passport considered an acceptable form of ID for a child? I think I read there needs to be copies of 2 ids? They have a current USA passport.
