Am I overreacting for cutting off my neighbor's Wi-Fi after they changed my router password?
AIO for refusing to lend my neighbor my Wi-Fi after they changed the password on me? I moved into a duplex about six months ago. My neighbor and I got along pretty well, and since my internet plan was faster than theirs, I offered to let them use my Wi-Fi until they got their own service set up. That turned into months of them using it, which I didn't really mind because they offered to chip in every now and then. A few days ago my internet suddenly stopped working. I logged into the router and realized the admin password had been changed. I asked my neighbor if they knew anything about it, and they casually admitted they had changed it because they wanted to "organize the settings" after buying some smart home devices. They said they forgot to tell me the new password. I asked them to change it back, and they acted like I was making a big deal out of nothing. They kept saying, "You still have internet, so what's the problem?" That bothered me because it's my account, my equipment, and they changed the password without asking. So I removed all their devices from the network and changed every password. Now they're upset because they work from home a couple of days a week and said I put them in a difficult spot. A couple of other neighbors think I should've just given them the new password and talked it out later since we had been sharing anyway. I don't think the issue is the Wi-Fi itself, I think it's that they changed access to something that wasn't theirs without asking. Am I overreacting?
