Google ads & AppsFlyer - Mystery ⁉️
I’ve connected AppsFlyer with Google Ads for my app and the link appears active on both sides.
On the AppsFlyer side, I set up the Google Ads integration and enabled:
- Partner activation
- Deferred deep linking with Google Ads
- Non-EU users
- Advanced data sharing
- Install click-through attribution window: 30 days
- Pre-registration campaign lookback window: 90 days
- Install view-through attribution: enabled
- View-through lookback window: 5 days
- In-app event postbacks: enabled
Mapped events include:
- "af_app_opened" → "session_start"
- "af_complete_registration" → custom sign-up event
- "af_invite" → custom
- "af_purchase" → "in_app_purchase"
- "af_start_trial" → custom
- "af_subscribe" → custom
On the Google Ads side, AppsFlyer is listed under Third-party app analytics, status is Active, and the Link ID matches the one in AppsFlyer.
AppsFlyer is receiving events and attribution data. I see installs, registrations, content views, purchases/trials, and other in-app events in the AppsFlyer dashboard. Organic and Google Ads data appear there too.
Problem: Google Ads is not showing any of these events/conversions, even though AppsFlyer has incoming event data.
Has anyone seen this before? Do I need to manually import the AppsFlyer events as conversion actions inside Google Ads after linking, or should they appear automatically? Anything else I should check in the AppsFlyer → Google Ads setup?
