Need help identifying this Thai Tiger Amulet (Suea Nga Gae) – Looking for Temple/Monk info!

Hi everyone,

I recently acquired this hand-carved Thai tiger amulet (Suea Nga Gae), which appears to be carved from unknown material and is housed in a silver casing. (If you can identify the material please let me know)

From what I’ve researched so far, it seems to be rooted in "White Magic" traditions aimed at protection, commanding power (Maha Amnaj), and evading danger (Klaew Klaad). However, I am trying to narrow down its specific origins.

I would love to get your insights on a few things:

Lineage/Monk: Does anyone recognize this specific carving style, posture, or mouth shape? Could it be linked to a specific lineage or temple (like Luang Por Parn, Luang Por Nok, or a later master)?

Age: Based on the aging of the material and the style of the casing, what era do you think this dates back to?

Inscriptions: It looks like there are faint lines/markings on the body. For anyone familiar with Khom spell letters, are these typical hand-inscribed Yants?

Any information on its backstory or the proper chanting mantra (Kata) to honor it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Opinions on the clarity and perimeter inclusions of this Emerald? Would you consider this jewelry quality? Is this Emerald clean enough for a daily ring?

Hi everyone,

I am looking at this oval-cut emerald for a potential jewelry project (likely a ring) and wanted to get the community's thoughts on its overall quality and face-up appearance. It is 1.67 carats and measured (8.2x6x5.2) mm

I know emeralds are notoriously included, but I am trying to figure out where this one sits on the spectrum of jewelry quality. I’ve attached four photos under different lighting and backgrounds.

A few specific questions for the experts here:

  1. Clarity & Face-Up View: The color looks like a nice, vibrant green, and the center seems fairly transparent when light passes through it. Does this look decently clean to the eye for a commercial-grade emerald?

  2. Perimeter Inclusions: I notice some darker, thread-like fissures near the bottom and outer edges (especially visible in the white background photo). Do these look like surface-reaching fractures that could pose a structural risk during setting or daily wear?

  3. Overall Verdict: Would you consider this a good, wearable stone for a piece of jewelry, or are the edge inclusions a red flag to keep looking?

I appreciate any insights on its cut, clarity, or potential durability!

Is this Emerald "Jyotish Quality" for Mercury? Looking for feedback on these inclusions.

Hi everyone, I am looking to buy/wear an Emerald for Vedic (Jyotish) astrology purposes to strengthen my Mercury.

I know that emeralds are notoriously included, but I want to make sure the inclusions in this specific stone won’t cause any negative astrological or structural issues.I’ve attached four photos showing it under different lighting and angles (including a finger-hold for scale and a white background).

My Observations & Questions:

1/ Color & Transparency: The color looks like a vibrant, lively green, and light passes through the center quite well (it isn't opaque or muddy). Is this level of transparency sufficient for Jyotish purposes?

2/ Inclusions: There are no massive black carbon spots right in the center, but I do notice some darker, thread-like inclusions/fissures near the bottom and perimeter edges (especially visible in the white background photo).

3/ The Risk: Do these perimeter inclusions look like they break the surface enough to cause energy distortion, or worse, make the stone prone to cracking when set in a ring?

I would love to get the community's honest feedback on whether this stone is acceptable to wear, or if I should keep looking.Thank you in advance for your help!
