what size backpack for 30day hike?

hello,

i am planning my first long-distance hike. it’s about 430km over 30 days (about 15-20km per day) and mostly flat with some hills. i will sleep in hostels near the end of each section, so no need to bring camping gear.

i obvs plan to carry as little as possible (packing list below). but i will need to bring my laptop because i am working remotely during that month. and i am travelling on a budget, so trying not to buy too many new things (mainly a backpack and trekking shoes).

packing list (so far):
tick repellent
trekking shoes
rain jacket
rain cover for backpack
long socks (3)
swimsuit
birkenstocks (as alternative shoes also for hiking when doing shorter sections)
shorts (2)
long trousers/sports leggins (2)
tops (3)
sport bras (1)
underwear (4)
laptop & charger
hat
sun glasses
sun screen
toiletry bag
first aid kit (fenistil, plasters, blister plasters, ibu)
power bank (small)
earphones
jumper
pijama
towel
lock
tote bag
water bottle
journal
phone
passport
money

two questions:

  1. do you think i missed anything or am i overpacking?
  2. what size backpack would you recommend? the AI suggested 30-45l, but as we know the AI is not always correct…

thank you for any advice! :)

EDIT: i will have to carry all my stuff with me every day (perhaps good to know 😅)

Hiking the entire Olle Trail in one month? 👀 / 👀

Hello :)

I've been to Jeju twice and the last time I went did one leg of the Olle trail. Since then, I always thought about how cool it would be to do the whole trail over a month (one leg per day).

Has anyone done this before? Was it easy to find accommodation (hostels) on the spot or did you book that in advance? How safe did you feel doing the trail by yourself (I am a female solo traveller)?

And is there anything else I need to know/should consider (tips and recommendations also welcome!)?

Thanks for any advice! :)

P.S.: I tried looking in FB groups, online and also on r/jeju but couldn’t find any trip report from anyone who’d done the whole Olle trail…
__________
