some pieces from when i was really obsessed with infinite jest last year. Orin is under the cup. The rest are Hal. I know he doesn't have glasses in the story but got really attached to the idea of Hal perceiving the world through an extra set of lenses/screens. Miss drawing this stuff.
i keep redrawing this historical figure as i study him for grad school. he's kind of a strange looking guy but hes a lot of fun to draw. anyways fun to see how my use of colour and linework and head angles have evolved!
i had a stylistic breakthrough earlier this year but have no idea what i draw like anymore, haha. Is it a good style for comics or should I stick to more illustrative drawings? Would you read a comic that looks like the last two images? Do the pieces with less detail still look... clean? professional? I always worry that something is missing. Don't have to answer all these questions obviously, I'm just thinking out loud.
