Appealing a firing decision through Kelly Educational

Hey y’all, I’ve resigned to the fact I’m SOL, but hoping there’s some hope.

From 2017-2019, I subbed for Kelly Educational Staffing. It wasn’t until the fall of 2019 that my sub career was made harder.

It started with subbing at a school that more or less filed a complaint on me, saying I wasn’t attending to the students and I was on my phone. Reality is I subbed for a class that had like 10 teachers in it that more or less had everything under control and basically left me and a few of the other teachers with nothing to do. Apparently this was enough to fire me from Kelly, according to the head coordinator of the district.

I did my part where I wrote a letter explaining from my side what all happened and I emailed it to the coordinator. It wasn’t until after that we talked on the phone and essentially was not only going to continue to fire me, but it was over something completely different than what had been said.

My coordinator and I butted heads a lot, mainly due to issues pertaining to questions I addressed concerning some of the assignments and a ton of misunderstandings, but this was.. To say I was blindsided was an understatement. I ended up talking to a committee over the phone and more or less the decision was made final. At that point, I had a good paying job and didn’t see the need to substitute anymore, so I just let the decision be.

Fast forward to 2026, I’m looking for employment, and Kelly has practically taking over all the districts in the area (with an exception of a view districts that still handle things the old school way), which has made it difficult to get sub assignments in districts that I never had any issues with (and I had been subbing for nearly two decades).

Since the concept of sub hiring was new to me at the time they came into my area and I wasn’t aware how many districts they’d absorb, is there anyway to even appeal this firing? It’s even my understanding the coordinator is not even in their role anymore.

Temp Agencies

Hey y’all, I resigned from my job a couple weeks ago and considering hitting up one of the temp agencies in the metro. My question is which one is worth my time to go to? Looking for work that pays at least $20 an hour. Office setting.

Looking for work

Hi everyone,

I recently resigned from my position at a local library due to an increasingly difficult work environment that began affecting my mental health, combined with reduced hours that made it hard to sustain myself financially in this economy.

I’d like to continue working in the library field — public, academic, or otherwise — though I’m also open to roles where my library experience and skill set would be valuable. Above all, I’m looking for a position where I can keep serving and supporting my community.

Background:

•	Bachelor’s degree in International & Area Studies
•	8 years of library experience
•	Nearly 20 years of substitute teaching
•	1 year teaching ESL
•	Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and macOS

I’m seeking full-time work at $20–$24/hour, though I’m open to part-time at a similar rate depending on the role.

I’d really appreciate any guidance, leads, or connections as I navigate this transition. Thank you for reading.
