hi! incoming first year here currently shopping for dorm stuff. does anyone know how high the yale beds are off the floor (wrt finding under bed storage cabinets/baskets). online it says 12-36 inches. does that mean it’s adjustable or just that it varies! also, any other insights on the dimensions of most first year rooms (although ik it’s highly variable) is greatly appreciated! tysm!

for anyone who’s maintained a 3.9+ gpa at yale, what does that look like? incoming freshman hoping to go to law school and I was wondering, realistically, what does a ditl or week look like for someone deeply serious about their grades? i come from a relatively uncompetitive high school where you basically got auto As for putting a decent amount of effort into the assignments and studying like no more than like 6-8 hours/week.
i’ve heard the about grade inflation, but imo, if you have a class full of valedictorians/salutatorians, it doesn’t seem implausible that many of them have extremely high grades. while the average gpa is high on paper, how much of this is just an incredibly high achieving class (and also, with harvard’s new policy, we’re not sure how much yale may or may not follow suit).
anyways, what does it take to achieve a 3.9+ gpa? what are some things one can do to be proactive this summer and into the beginning of the school year?
