Founds some goodies at the thrift store today

So I found some great stuff (most of which was brand new, sealed, for stupidly cheap. The only items that were already opened were Sister Act and Sunset Boulevard.

Bullets Over Broadway was $.96 (color group at the thrift was half off today)
Sister Act $1.91
All Creatures Great & Small (series 2) $2.92
Sunset Boulevard (Paramount Centennial Collection version) $2.92
Ministry of Fear Criterion DVD $2.92

and last and very much not least

The Office (US) Complete Series (in a beat up slipcase with that really shitty stacked disc packaging but still sealed as well) for $6.96

I only ever saw a few episodes of The Office over the years and the memes made me chuckle so I will finally give it a go. No beets or bobbleheads for me though.

I was very happy for the deal but getting Sunset Boulevard made me happier than The Office cause that movie rocks on so many levels. The Criterion find was something I could not pass up either.

Sister Act has been my sacrificial lamb for testing the 2 VCRs that I’m tinkering with and trying to get in working order again. One copy got a bit chewed up so this one will be for keeps.

Anyone have a favorite of the bunch?

Random thrift store find today

Blind buy but I found a sealed Ministry of Fear DVD for $2.92 today so I thought I’d take the leap. I have a bunch of things coming up I want to try and get during the July sale (Hairspray being high up the list) but I couldn’t pass this one up.

Anyone have any thoughts about this film? Anything to know before going in? I see it’s from around WWII time (1944) so there’s always that I guess.

Actual release date (per the Barnes and Noble website shows May 5th but they happened to have it on the shelf today. Nice find a little early and it helped me use up some gift cards I got as rewards years ago from Verizon.

They had the dumb round security sticker on the inside of the back cover but it peeled cleanly without ripping or damaging the cover at all. Just did it very slowly… I did have to dab at a -little- bit of leftover residue but it worked out well.
