More apprentices than tradesmen — red flag?
Working towards an SVQ3 in Fabrication and Welding.
Our employer is hiring more and more apprentices and at this point there are more apprentices than tradesmen in the shop.
I entered this apprenticeship because I had previous experience fabricating and welding, but with this employer I'm doing basically zero fabrication and zero welding — just tonnes of grinding and simple jobs.
They're hiring as many apprentices as possible to fill a labor shortage. want to learn and fabricate more, is it unreasonable to think about switching employers?
