THE TAKEOVER (Maniac Edition of Citizin Vigilante)

THE TAKEOVER (Maniac Edition of Citizin Vigilante)

This is a film about the European immigration crisis and all the consequences it brings.

Strangely enough, it’s banned in Germany—apparently, the truth isn’t allowed to be made public.

Uwe Boll was a guest at the Imagine Film Festival in Amsterdam several years ago, where he screened the film *Rampage*.

As far as I can remember, it was received fairly well.

However, he definitely doesn't produce masterpieces, as the believability of his films is often questionable.

The same can be said for his film *Citizen Vigilante*.

I thought it was somewhat good, but I was disappointed by the choice of Croatia as the setting and the fact that many actors spoke with noticeable accents.

Hammer is fantastic in the film, but the original editing of the film featured a disorganized jumble of scenes that jumped back and forth, which I found quite annoying.

In this edit, the scenes have been arranged in a more logical order, and there are significant changes to the music.

The story is now told in a 65-minute version, which, for me, was just enough.

Additional music by

Alexis Grapsas

Brian Reitzell

Jimmy Page

Don Miggs

Fesliyan Studios

Roque Banos

And Charlie Clouser.

It's online now, converted to 4K; the audio is in TrueHD 5.1

THE JIGSAW KILLER (Maniac fan edition of SAW II)

This adaptation is the fourth SAW film written by Zagadka.

Following "History of Desperation," "Endgame," and "House of Jigsaw," it is now time for "The Jigsaw Killer."

As is customary, much of the music will be done by Charlie Clouser, featuring tracks from other SAW films.

The storyline primarily focuses on SAW II, with occasional scenes from other entries in the series.

I started this edit months ago, while I was also working on the IT: Terror in Derry edit.

Putting that edit together was quite exhausting, so it took a very long time before *The Jigsaw Killer* was finished.

Initially, I used 4K sources to assemble the edit, but I was still not entirely satisfied with the quality.

I then fell back on the Blu-rays I had, and from there, the entire edit was reworked using Topaz.

The audio is in TrueHD 5.1

Online from today.

Zagadka comment:

A recut of Darren Lynn Bousman's Saw II (2005) that weaves deeper in John Kramer's life and philosophy.

The film is reframed as a tragic psychological duel between two broken men – Jigsaw & Detective Eric Matthews – while a group of criminals undergo the Nerve Gas House Test in search of redemption and a renewed appreciation for life.

The edit is a self-contained psychological thriller with added flashbacks from other Saw entries and less reliance on gore.

Saw II already works well as its own story – this version emphasizes that strength, and the plot gains new coherence.

It may also function as a soft reboot or an interquel to our Jigsaw I-II edits

(A History of Desperation & Endgame).

The Strangers - The Joy of Killing (Maniac edition of The Strangers trilogy)

This edit is a 3-in-1 compilation.

I re-edited all three films using 4K prints and made several necessary changes.

The music by Justin Caine Burnett was sourced from the soundtracks released for each film.

I shortened drawn-out scenes, as there are often lengthy waits before any action occurs.

Additionally, I included replacement background radio music, and except for “Nights in White Satin,” all the music played on the record player has been replaced.

I also removed absurd coincidences from the original versions, and in my edit, the record player does not play music backward.

About 30 to 35 minutes have been cut from each film, bringing the total runtime to 184 minutes.

The audio is in AC3 5.1 surround sound.

DEPRESSION. Maniac Edition of DIE, MY LOVE.

In this adaptation, we see a woman battling postpartum depression.

Jennifer Lawrence delivers an outstanding performance that keeps me engaged throughout the film.

However, I wasn't a fan of the poor music choices.

Many songs are featured during the scenes, from records and radio, and I didn’t care for most of them.

That changed significantly, about 80%, with the selections that I felt reflected Lawrence’s mental state.

At the beginning of the film, she appears hopeless and trapped in deadly boredom, which gradually transforms into severe depression.

As the story progresses, she nears the brink of madness and is eventually committed.

Although you can anticipate the ending of the original story and how things ultimately turn out for her, I still believe the adaptation should have offered a somewhat more positive outlook.

Aside from the mostly disappointing music, another drawback for me was the 4:3 aspect ratio of the film.

After much consideration, I decided to leave it as it is since upscaling to 1.85:1 isn't one of my favorite activities either.

The transfer was made from a 4K print, and the audio format is AC3.

Cut down to 73 minutes.

Additional music by Justin Caine Burnett & Mark Isham
