There are a few things we need to bring to your attention.

Reporting Users

It seems a lot of people don't know that they can report users. We have clearly written it in the community rules and wiki. We will re-iterate the community rule Report with Context and Clarity in this regard:

If you're reporting a user, please include clear screenshots that show the username and enough context — a few messages before and after the issue helps us understand what happened. Whenever possible, also include a link to the user's profile in your modmail report. This helps us investigate and respond more effectively.

If you choose to take things off Reddit then please share proof that helps us connect the dots. For example, a message where they shared their number/social handle and then, the Whatsapp/social media screenshots.

We do our best to vet and improve our vetting process but we can only control what goes on in the community. What happens in your inbox or private space becomes your responsibility to help us improve things further.

Reporting Comments

It is impossible for us to read each and every comment that is posted. Quite unreasonable to expect us to do so. We would like to remind the community rule Active and Responsible Participation in this regard:

If you witness harassment, personal attacks, or inappropriate behavior in posts, comments, or chat, please don’t stay silent — report it. As a community focused on serious relationships, we all share the responsibility of keeping this space safe and respectful. Your reports help us take timely action and protect others. Report those who break community rules.

When you choose to stay silent, more people are at risk of being abused by the perpetrator.

Please, when you see such a comment, simply don't move past it. Report it so that we can act.

Community Rule Violations

We have also updated our escalation blue print. We will no longer be temporarily banning users to nudge them in the right direction. After three warnings, there will be a permanent ban from the community.

Hello lovely people!

We hope you are all doing great and had time to reflect in our enforced rishta search break.

We definitely did!

As it happens, when you step back and look at the bigger picture, it is an opportunity to understand things better.

A few members reached out personally. It was nice to talk to them and understand better how they see the community. Something that stood out was to focus on quality, not quantity. We are different(hopefully) and with the right approach, the right people will show up(hopefully).

So, as we resume operations from today, we will continue to be the no non-sense, zero noise marriage community that we set out to be.

You might notice a slight difference in quality of posts as we standardize our moderation process. The differences will be ironed out in due time InshaAllah.

We will also be requesting re-post from members who submitted their profiles during the break. With a fresh timestamp, it will help their visibility.
