Just got back into writing over the last 3 months after a years long break, so constructive input welcome.

And excuse the formatting as I haven't posted much to Reddit, so I'm learning how to create paragraphs, breaks etc

Henceforth taken

By the pillars of greed

Standing, sidelined,

They watched them bleed;

"Rise up; Come, the fascist,"

Liberals unwittingly whispered

Bearing witness to the beasts

That ran free, feet blistered,

"For it is not you nor I

That should be fraught;

We are not a 'them',

The bad ones sought!"

They continued to shrug

As the door knocks began

Demanding to see papers,

Questioned identities of man.

Until the day had been reached,

The complacent shielded no longer,

To placate the ravenous power;

An entire society to conquer.

Taking teacher or student,

Position did not matter—

Appear different, speak out of turn?

You're the ones they were after.

//

Their generation shared a story

Of regret and abomination,

Until time of decades passed

And memory wiped the exploitation.

Yet the venomous ideology

Came back home across the ocean,

For the narrative was borrowed

From the dirt of burnt plantations.

Where hate begets hate,

Flowing like a wave of sorrow,

It pushes in against the shore

And back out to live tomorrow;

No reflection from the future

And little insight to the past,

The present living blind

Of a nation soon to be recast

In a land of prior barbarity,

Effortlessly ignored;

Chaos wrought in fantasy,

As it was never truly pure.

But who may take time

To unlearn an altered reality,

To care beyond self,

With a culture run so callously?

So we point the finger inward

Instead of reaching for the glass

To gaze beyond the ceiling,

A lock soon placed— no way to surpass—

By the elitist reinforcement

To work, own, buy, or steal,

To lift up your own boot straps,

For the proletariat is what they fear.

So the masses are kept distracted

With obligation and useless treats,

Deluded to cast dispersions

Until the next tyrant is set to release.

//

Alas, amid the confusion,

A historic encore has appeared

Sowing seeds of panicked doubt,

Arranging minions,

Claiming clout.

Spoken firm from ivory towers,

Words poised by megalomania,

Calling hitherto from the shadows

To create another mass hysteria.

With serpent tongues that boil,

Heated language has spread the infection

Amongst a population, jaded,

By exhaustion and misconception—

A deception amongst the people

To remove their peering eyes,

Handing out the needles

To self-sacrifice ears to the lies;

How can you fairly examine

The fallacy of those in charge

When voices dig teeth deep

From both sides, causing alarm?

For there is no boundary

Of which power can reach—

Bear witness to the mental slaughter;

With fingers crossed, they preach:

//

"I look down upon your faces

With a growing power, twofold,

But I can only offer assistance,

If I may ever be so bold,

By asking you to grace me

With an everlasting pledge

Of unequivocal trust, devotion,

And to forget what has been alleged!

For in the dance of empire

My enemies lie, steal, and cheat;

Only my words shall be heard as true

And those against me: I claim obsolete!

After all, God has chosen me

A great seer of this nation;

Blessed unto the people—

Pay no mind to my inner Satan.

All men are sinners,

I can still practice what I speak;

Believe in me today

And tomorrow shall be less bleak!

Yes, yes I know

You have heard this all before,

But this time for certain

We shall cure the foreign spores!

Clearly they are the cause

Of your life laid in ruin—

Believe in what I say,

Not what you see behind the curtain!"

//

And the people have stood to cheer

Or sat still to simply ponder

The words made crystal clear

By another human monster

Using those with less or different

As pariahs, scapegoats, and pawns,

To build up a loyalist army

Of the desperate wanting to belong.

And the many that disagree

Have become complicit like before

Or keep opinions centered,

With those shouting held to court

Like an organ grinder's monkey

Accused of performing for discourse—

Another quest to block our sight

From seeing the true malicious source.

And by censorship arriving,

Lips embroiled against the thread,

The tattered cloak of democracy

Will erode to its impending death.

//

With that I urge you in earnest

Not to lie in wait, be hypnotized, or duped—

Despots rely on the plague of silence,

As it delivers their pursuit.

For a heinous change of ethics

Does not appear instant but slow;

We will not see it day to day,

But wake one morn to eating crow

With those you know are legal

And the ones you thought were safe

Dragged into the streets—

Entire families gone, erased.

Perhaps I only exaggerate

The current state of affairs,

But haunted specters of the past

Have warned us of evils to be shared

And how treacherous ideals,

When left to seed, flourish, and grow,

Will permit liberty to decay

As you tolerate fascism gaining control.

Hip Dysplasia Diagnosis; Looking for Opinions

As a disclaimer I am not seeking legitimate medical advice but rather looking for the opinion of people that faced a same or similar issue.

I was born with my right leg appearing to relax inward or outward compared to the other so they tried corrective shoes with a bar in between for me to wear while in the crib assuming I was either pigeon toed or that it was an ankle issue that could be corrected (ohh the 1980s), which did not work. I totally skipped crawling and was delayed learning to walk (which is common with congenital dysplasia).

As a teen I experienced more noticeable pain/discomfort/movement difficulty when I had to run for gym class. The doctor diagnosed it as a short tendon, so I had half-assed physical therapy for a month to 'stretch it out'.

Fast forward to adulthood (now 30s) and the pain/discomfort has become much more frequent and movement more difficult, such as bending down, crouching, or walking/standing/sitting for long periods of time. Finally this year I got a diagnosis of congenital hip dysplasia, went to physical therapy for 6 weeks to strengthen and learn pain management, but when I got an x-ray done there was no joint abnormality (which I thought was key in hip dysplasia).

So, has anyone else gotten this diagnosis without a visible abnormality in their x-ray or could I have gotten *another* misdiagnosis? I take Dr. Google with a grain of salt but there are other ailments that come up with similar symptoms, but none of them fully 'look' like me in order to bring this up with my doctor more clearly.

Again, I'm only looking for opinions based on anyone's experience with leg issues, regardless of if it is from an injury or since birth. Thanks!
