The only way to wear my two new knitted sweaters “during” summer ☀️🧶 (Swipe to see how they’re really worn)

I love knitting, especially sweaters. But the worst part about finishing a sweater during summer is… actually wearing it and trying to create some content with it.
It’s definitely a love-hate relationship when it comes to knitting. I mean, seriously, who wears a sweater when it’s 30°C (86°F) outside?! That’s definitely not me!

Anyway let’s talk about the pattern.
The pattern I chose is The First Sweater by Lizzie Hester. It’s a raglan sweater with a half-patent stitch pattern on the sleeves.
For the blue one, I used DROPS Flora in Navy, and for the pink one, I used Strawberry Pink. I held both together with some variegated yarn I bought a few years ago. I originally bought it for a “special” project, mostly because for me it was such a good deal for 100% wool lace-weight yarn (bought it in many other colors…).
As you can see, it matches both projects pretty well and I’m happy with it.
The only modification I made was to the sleeves. For the blue one, I made the yarn overs on the knit stitches, while for the pink one, I made the yarn overs on the purl stitches.

P.S. I hope you like them as much as I do. And I can’t wait for some colder weather so I can finally wear them outside to show the world what I knitted all day long. :)

My new favorite blanket is done ✨

This is definitely one of my favorite blanket I ever crocheted so far!!! When I’m looking at the it it’s giving some yoga vibes. Don’t ask me I do not even know why.

I made this beautiful blanket, because I wanted to try something new as a crochet instead of repeating rows on a blanket. I searched and found something “challenging”. And here we are with my new masterpiece. It’s a free pattern called the Jaracanda by Iman van der Kraan. I used some acrylic yarn in 3 different (3 skein each color) colors and a 5mm hook. It took me nearly 3.000 meter of yarn for 82 rows. Couldn’t make all 96 rows, because I had no yarn left.

For the next time now I know that I need more yarn and maybe 4 or 5 colors. I mean who knows and I had a lot of fun making it. Because each row I had to do something new/different what kept me engaging to do “just one more row”.

No matter how hot it is, I knitted a new sweater 🙃

I guess many of you guys went or still go through a heat wave. And like instead of some other people who use some heat friendly yarn, I’m knitting with wool… I have to say, how great the combination of sweat and wool is while knitting. And even better I’m just too stubborn to put it by side and go through the pain by pulling more and more, because my yarn does not want to glide over my “sweaty” finger.

Whatsoever here is my new knitted sweater the jenny sweater by petiteknit. A bottom-up raglan with a beautiful smock pattern. The worst part for me was and will be forever to cast on over 200 stitches for the body and do the counting at the same time. I don’t want to recall how many times I recounted my stitches, because I don’t trust my counting skills. :)

For this one I used drops flora and kid-silk (my favorite yarn brand) in the color dark navy with 4.0mm and 3.5mm needles.

There is also a “newer/another” version called the jenny blouse by petiteknit. The only differences are the top-down construction and some drop sleeves.

At the end it’s an incredible sweater with a lovely pattern design in my opinion.

PS: The only ick I got after blocking the sweater is, that the body and the sleeves are a bit too long for my preference. And I skipped a whole pattern section in the body to make it a bit shorter.

Happy pride 🌈✨

I crocheted this shawl last year to wear at the Pride Parade, but somehow I never shared it. So now feels like the perfect time to finally post it and celebrate every stitch made with pride. 🌈

The pattern is the 6-Day Shawl by Betty McKnit. And for one I used a cotton-polyester blend with a 3mm hook.

My knitwear collection after 2 years of knitting

Nearly two years ago, I posted my very first knitted sweater here on reddit. Back then, knitting was just a little break from crocheting for me. I didn’t really have a clue which yarn fiber to choose for a sweater or how to make a gauge swatch (still too lazy to make one 😅). And honestly, knitting flat and weaving in ends felt like pure torture. I mean, who actually enjoys weaving in ends after finishing a beautiful sweater?

Anyway, I thought I’d share all of my knitted pieces with you — a total of 25 projects. From my very first one up until now, you can definitely see the progress and the skills I’ve gained over these two years. And now I genuinely enjoy knitting sweaters and can’t imagine quitting this beautiful and joyful hobby.

Without even thinking about all the money I’ve already spent on yarn and many other things. Let’s see what the future will bring for me and my hobby. 🧶✨

P.S. Two of the pieces are crocheted* sweaters.

Time to show my new knitted sweater with a wide smile 😊

Wanted to knit something easygoing and mindless without thinking too much — and here it is: the result, my new knitted sweater. It’s the Haze Sweater by The Knit Purl Girl. The best part is that this pattern is free on Ravelry at least.
For this project, I used DROPS Alaska in the colors Mustard and Black with 5 mm and 4 mm needles.

Hope you guys like it, and maybe someone here will give a try to knit this one too! :)
