Social groups or activities

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knew any social groups, craft groups or activities in Bolton for women under 30. I used to go to one in Manchester but they had an age limit of 26 and I am wondering if there something similar in Bolton.

Thank you

Parent challenged my assessment questions mid-session. Was I wrong?

I’m suspected autistic and awaiting assessment, have ADHD and CPTSD, and I work in a role supporting students in education . I want some honest feedback on my questioning approach.

During a recent assessment a parent was present. I asked the student a broad opening question about how their condition impacts their studies- my usual starting point before narrowing down to specifics.

The parent challenged me strongly, saying the question was too broad and vague and that it had caused the student to go silent.

I’ve always used broad to specific as my approach because it lets the student lead rather than me putting words in their mouth. But now I’m second guessing it.

For autistic people who have been in assessments or similar situations:

•	Is a broad opening question like that actually unhelpful or overwhelming?
•	Would you prefer to be asked something more specific straight away?
•	Or was the issue more about the environment and the parent being there rather than the question itself?

Genuine feedback welcome. I want to get this right.
