First time builder, ~$2300 CAD budget, need help picking parts please (ON, Canada)

(TL;DR on the bottom)

Hey guys, so after saving for a lil, my next paycheck should be around 2300ish CAD (I'm in Ontario). It's not a hard ceiling, more like a "this is what I got, but I don't mind waiting a bit if a better deal shows up" or "if it might be worth spending a little bit more" situation. I'd prefer to buy everything at once instead of piecing it together over time, but if there's a reason to wait (like a specific sale period that's actually worth it - like a 99% sale on a 5090 or sum) I'm open to hearing it.

I don't live near Memory Express so most of their stuff I'd have to order online, but I'm close to Canada Computers so I can do online or in-store there. Links to both:

- memoryexpress.com

- canadacomputers.com

What I'll actually be using the conputer for:

This is my first ever PC build, and it's replacing a computer that genuinely cannot keep up (and never did tbh, its a 1660 super 6gb vram, intel i7 12th gen, 250gb or sum like that, 16gb ddr4). I'm starting out on YouTube — I edit in Premiere Pro mainly, sometimes CapCut on PC, and I make tiktok style edits in After Effects too. I also use Photoshop for thumbnails. Want to eventually try DaVinci Resolve and maybe Sony Vegas.

Gaming wise I'm mostly into single-player/graphics heavy games, but I play FPS too — Apex and COD sometimes, and Fortnite specifically for content since my current PC can't record and play at the same time. Once I upgrade, I want to record and play simultaneously, and eventually stream too (not right away, want a platform built up first, but I'd like the option).

Currently on two 1080p monitors, might go 1440p down the line — probably once I hit 1k subs lol (kinda like a way to reward myself). I doubt id get 4K or ultrawide, feels like overkill for me right now.

Storage: I've got a 1TB external HDD I'll use as extra storage. Also thinking about grabbing a bigger external (2TB+) at some point — if anyone's seen a good deal on one, send it my way.

Deals I've been seeing (mix of Memory express and Canada Computer - not really sure if they aregood but Im open to better alternatives too):

(For the cases I prefer black, and I genuinely hate wood panel cases - which is a very unpopular oppinionbut it just doesnt look good to me)

A couple questions since this is my first build:

- Do I need an anti-static wrist strap or is that overkill for a first-timer?

- Any beginner-friendly build videos/guides you'd actually recommend, vs the ones that skip steps assuming you already know stuff?

Appreciate any input and advice as well. Thanks in advance!

TL;DR: First ever PC build, budget is ~$2300 CAD (soft cap, can wait a bit or flex slightly for the right deal), need it for gaming + editing + recording + eventually streaming, and it gotta be able to multitask. Got a list of deals above from Memory Express and Canada Computers, want opinions on which to go with. Also — do I actually need an anti-static wrist strap for my first build?

Also im in canada if that wasnt obvious

Can you please build me a PC under $2000 ish CAD

Like I wanna be using my computer for like editing, gaming, maybe streaming and youtube and stuff. So not just gaming but productive stuff

So like maybe a minimum of 32GB RAM would be good

I have a job and im saving for so i dont really care if its below 2000 or higher than 2000

I should say I prefer Nvidia GPU but im also not confined to it, if there is one that is better yk?

I should say ive never built a computer before and my current computer is the hp pavvilion gaming pc

Hot Take: Clark Never Loved Lana

I am watching Smallville for the first time, and right now I’m on Season 7, Episode 1. It took a lot of effort to get through the first two seasons because they were unbelievably boring and predictable. Season 3 started picking up a lot - I’m pretty sure that was around the when Lex was crazy and his dad like wiped his mind or something. But I still can’t get over the fact that Clark has been “in love” with Lana for seven seasons. Every single time they get into a relationship, either he breaks it off to “protect her,” or she breaks it off because she can’t handle all the secrets. It has happened SO many times, and they still never learn from it. It’s honestly exhausting to watch.

I feel like Clark has this perfect fantasy version of Lana in his head. He loves the idea of her more than the actual relationship. She’s the prettiest girl in school, the girl next door, the “perfect” choice - but their relationship feels so forced. I genuinely don’t understand why it got dragged out for this long.

Clark has had multiple girlfriends and entire periods where he seems to completely move on from Lana, but then suddenly he’s back saying stuff like, “I’ve always loved you, Lana.” Like bro… shut up 😭

I love the show, but honestly the Clark and Lana dynamic is the one thing that could make me stop watching. Clark chooses to leave Lana, but then also doesn’t want her to move on or be with anyone else. It’s so frustrating.

And I was actually happy when Lana died (twice - the first time in earlier seasons) because finally she is out of the picture, its sad but we can finally move on to other love interests with Clark. Only to find out she somehow comes back later (I don’t know how yet), and apparently Clark goes right back to obsessing over her in Season 8 too? So essentially you’re telling me I watched eight seasons of this Clark/Lana drama just to probably get one episode of Clark and Lois?

Sorry my bad for the rant, I just cant with Clark's puppy dog eyes over Lana anymore, its driving me insane
