Is this a good build?

This is my upgrade blueprint for this fixer upper I got off Facebook for $70. It currently has a 6th gen i5, 8 gigs of RAM, an MSI B250M Bazooka, a 600W power supply, and a case I threw out in order for a properly sized case. This is the final upgraded build I’m planning:

i7-7700
GTX 1660 Super/Ti
256GB SSD I had laying around
16GB DDR4-2400
CoolerMaster MasterBox Q300L
RGB cooler
Same motherboard and PSU

Been 11 years since I built a new PC. It wasn't the expensive stuff but high-end mid I would say. New promotion at work allowed me to splurge a little. I'm excited! Show me yours..

Fk tard pc shop

Hello guys, idk if this the right place to post this but here I am. So, I’ve got this custom built water cooling for 6 years now. I thought I’d get it to a clean on the loop right. I went to this shop where they got plenty of stores so it might as well be ok. It came back in 2 weeks.. Thought it’s gonna be fine, all cleaned, fresh loop and coolant etc. But within 2 weeks, I’ve tried to play the room 3. It fkin hits 91 degrees Celsius like wtf is this bro. So I contacted them abt it and brought it back again. Btw the third pic is what they claimed to be cleaned. After a week it came back, look fine AGAIN. Yet to be discovered that it’s LEAKING. (Pic. 9, u can clearly see it’s leaking and the low water mark) it was few days ago when I discovered it. And once again, the fkin gpu hits 85 when I played where winds meet. I used to play it for 5-6 hours straight with 70 smth degrees only. Idk how fucked up is it for them to worsen this whole situation and yes they been ghosting me now. 🤡 what can I do abt it, pls can someone slide me some tips tyvm. 🥀

PC Build Help $700 Budget 1080p Ultra

I’m trying to build a PC for under $700 and need some help

Right now I’m looking at a Ryzen 5 5500 with an RX 7600, but I’m not sure on those parts. If there are better cpus or gpus around the same price that would make more sense could you please comment.

I mainly want to play at 1080p on high/extreme settings with good FPS.

What would you guys recommend for the rest of the build, and is the 5500 + RX 7600 a good combo for this budget?

Thanks

What is the best low profile gpu I can get for 50 usd?

I am looking to do an ultra budget sff pc build, but pretty much any low profile gpu is ridiculously expensive. As far as I know, the best gpu I can get for $50 would be a gt 1030. Are there any better ones out there that I missed?

Should I upgrade my R5 5500 or RX 570 first?

My son has a R5 5500 and RX 570 with 32gb of ram and b550 mobo.

Our goal is only for 1080P gaming preferably 120-140 fps mainly.

I see most people recommend the R5 5600 or 5600X? or a R7 5700X3D for best bang for your buck.

I'm also not sure what gpu to get, would a RX 7700XT overkill? Can someone recommend me the best bang for your buck gpu?

Will mostly be hunting for these used

Amd Experience

I know this isn’t the usual Tips and info post but I just have to know about everyone else’s experiences if I’m doing something right or are people just tweaking the Fluff out there cards?

Specs
Ryzen 7 7800x3D
Klevv Cras V 32gb
MSI MAG A850GL
Xfx Mercury Oc Rx Radeon 9070xt
Windows 11 Home

I remember when I was building the pc (FIRST TIME BUILDER) I kept getting Reddit thread notifications about driver time outs and black screens and crashing bugs glitches EVERYTHING. And I keep hearing this thing people say “it’s the amd experience”

Now I had a gaming laptop back in 2020 it was a intel
8700H (I think) something like that and a GTX 1060(6gb)
So I won’t say I’m seasoned in Nvidia and Amd experiences I’ve experienced Nvidia card which it had its moments too with drivers but mostly was overall a good fluffing experience while it lasted ofc and this now would be my first FULL AMD PC.

I’ll be frank sometimes I do watch over it I’m a bit sensitive to see if it has issues I have tweaked a few setting on my cpu in bios and I have a OC on my GPU that I did from the adrenaline software itself. I have experienced two driver time outs in the two weeks I have been using the GPU. And ALL OF IT WAS IN FORTNITE. It seemed to happen every time I run Msi afterburner for stats and discord (what I thought at first). I checked the adrenaline app I had a chipset driver to update I DID IT and after that I did everything as normal no crashes after that😂 Now I run everything high whoever said no ray tracing for AMD boi I have that shit in high presets with Frame Gen on quality getting over 70fps in cyberpunk ultra preset while streaming.

Now maybe I missed out something but I’ve tested maybe around 15 games so far and I haven’t had any issues with my card my games are so so smooth compared to my old laptop this thing is night and day and I’m using a OLED MONITOR like I saw someone say something about Amd and oleds I have the latest version I think it’s 26.7.1? I’ll have to check but yeah no issues from me at all so what’s wrong with other people cards?

Any upgrade potential for this current setup?

Coming up on 3 yrs with this first rig I built. Still loving the PC, but I've been fomo window shopping new 5080, 3k-esk builds lately. Is there anything I could potentially upgrade here while saving for a new PC? Can hopefully reuse the RAM as well cause I'm pretty sure I paid like $120 back then lol.

I spent €400+ on Lian Li products and still couldn’t get the Stealth Kit…

Honestly, the whole Stealth Kit situation is pretty frustrating. It’s not just the fact that it’s basically impossible to buy right now — a lot of people, myself included, couldn’t get one even though we met all the requirements.
I bought an O11 Vision Compact and a HydroShift II OLED, so I clearly met the requirements for the Stealth Kit, but I still missed out simply because there wasn’t enough stock. And considering I’ve spent €400+ on Lian Li products, it’s pretty disappointing to be left out because of a stock issue.
I really hope Lian Li finds a solution for people who qualified but couldn’t get one due to the limited stock. I really like their products, but honestly, this whole situation has left me pretty disappointed.

It finally happened to me. Found a deal at Best Buy. 4 TB NVME

Well, after checking in a BestBuy every week in search of the so elusive deals I keep reading posts about, I finally found it. Samsung 990 Pro 4tb nvme drives half price on clearance. Unadvertised anywhere on the internet or at BestBuy web site. Found it in store for $550. List price $1050, as ridiculous as this is, it is what it is for the foreseeable future.. Bought 2 for my upcoming build... FINALLY FOUND AS DEAL. I was beginning to think these posts were BS...

BestBuy had 2 on the shelf. I bought 1 and took it home and tested it. Verified everything is good. Went back to grab the 2nd and last one on the shelf 20 minutes later and it was gone. But I was able to order it at the clearance price and ship it to me...

Afraid of Ryzen 7 9800X3D

I'm planning to build a new gaming PC on 2027 summer, probably with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and an MSI or Gigabyte AM5 motherboard.

The problem is that I've seen reports of 7800X3D and 9800X3D CPUs getting damaged or even burning the CPU/socket, and honestly it makes me nervous about spending €2000+ on a new PC.

I know some of the 7800X3D cases were related to SoC voltage/BIOS issues, and I've also seen reports about 9800X3D failures. I've read that at least some of the physically burned 9800X3D cases may have been caused by improper CPU installation, but I'm not sure how representative that is.

My planned setup would be something like:

- Ryzen 7 9800X3D

- MSI or Gigabyte B850/X870 motherboard

- RTX 5070 Ti or RX 9070 XT

- 32 GB DDR5

- 1080p gaming (please don't laugh or hate)

I'm trying to decide whether the risk is low enough that I should simply buy it, or whether, for the sake of reliability, I should avoid Ryzen altogether and go with an Intel Core Ultra 7 instead, even if I lose some gaming performance.

For people who actually own a 9800X3D:

How worried should I realistically be? Should I despite the burning issues still choose 9800X3D?
