New IUD, won’t stop cramping. Questioning it all.

I recently got a plastic IUD. I was told that this was the best option to stopping my period (Bleeding through pads down to socks bad).
I am questioning my womanhood/periodhavershood as these cramps, even 5 days later, are extremely painful. Reading here people describe it as “light to moderate pains”. I am scared, I never wanted to keel over more than taking the train 2 hours home after insertion. I felt cold and sweaty from the pain, but not consistently or else. hospital.
it’s only during the jolts of pain, like a terrible terrible stomachache. it’s better now, and the cramps are every so often.
is this normal cramps? is this how most people feel? I feel like I’ve been dramatic my whole life with my period pains and this is what it actually is like. If this is your mid then oh my god I am so sorry yall.

well im seeing a doctor tomorrow anyways, I will mention my symptoms.
but I’m not sure the pain scale, as my gyno said this will be over by the next week. it’s so not over.
