Working on a premium technical outdoor apparel brand called Caribou.
The idea is to build a minimalist, high-performance alpine wear company focused on serious outdoor environments — hiking, climbing, skiing, mountaineering, and adventure sports. The brand identity is inspired by the caribou animal itself: resilient, adaptable, and built to survive brutal conditions.
The focus would be on clean premium aesthetics combined with technical engineering using materials and technologies like Gore-Tex, Merino wool, Coreloft, and Tyono fabrics.
Target audience would mainly be affluent outdoor enthusiasts, mountain athletes, and urban professionals who value durability, understated luxury, and real-world utility over loud branding.
The long-term vision is to start with technical apparel and later expand into outdoor gear and equipment manufacturing.
Would love honest opinions:
\- Does this feel like a strong brand direction?
\- What would make you trust a new outdoor brand?
\- What would stop you from buying from a startup like this?
\- Does India/global market need another premium outdoor brand?
