Is this length normal for the R2 TechFace Hoody?

Picked up the Patagonia R2 TechFace Hoody in size S (172cm/55kg, so pretty slim build). Fit in the shoulders and sleeves feels right, but the hem sits pretty high on my waist and I’m getting some draft/wind coming up from underneath the hem when standing still.

Is this normal for this jacket, and if so, is there anything that actually helps with the draft (layering differently, tucking in a shirt, etc.) or is this just a tradeoff of the design?

35L or 45L for Strenuous Hikes?

I've decided to buy an ortovox peak as my first hiking backpack, but I'm struggling to decide whether i should get the 35L or 45L. i recently did vesper peak in WA (7 miles, 4000ft of elevation) which took me 9 hours, and decided that these are the types of hikes I'm going to do in the future, along with mountain summits like mt hood and mt rainier. with that in mind, which size would be better for this type of stuff? ill say i like to over pack slightly with stuff that's more-so "just in case" like hard-shells, as well as a camera and tripod. ill usually do C2C hikes but i think ill do some 2 day summits like for rainier maybe, which would be better for that?

Copenhagen

I’ve been visiting Helsinki, Stockholm, and now Copenhagen for the last two weeks, keeping an eye out for European outdoor gear. Recognizing that I’ve likely been in the equivalent of Euro-REI stores, I’ve come to the conclusion that American camping/outdoor gear is far superior. I’d welcome someone to correct this opinion by directing me to an appropriate store.

My first Hydro Moc

First time owning a Hydro Moc but i got an upsize. Mine originally size 41 (26cm) but i had these in US9 which is 1 size bigger. I already tried to knot the toe part with strap adjuster and give it a little run and i felt it a bit tight to gain my comfort zone. Maybe i should wear socks. I don't know if its safe to bring it to some trails but i planned to do some little swarm around lake later. Hope it suits me for real (couldn't change size because i got these as gift from overseas and my country doesnt have a Merrel retail)

Practitioner AR Hoody

Hi all, was wondering if anyone has experience with the Practitioner Hoody since I am considering getting one. Is it too warm for spring skitouring as an outer layer over just a base layer? Or better said, which Arcteryx model is it closest to in terms of warmth? Bonus points if anyone has some info on wind resistance. Thank you!

Hardshell instead of sailing jacket?

My high end sailing jacket gave up after 10 years and I need to get a new one. However, due to how much I am sailing (two weeks per year on sea), I want to get now something that will be useful also outside of sailing. My current jacket was big, warm and nice but it was just laying around useless, and I used it at most two weeks per year.

I would like to get now a lightweight hardshell as waterproof and windproof layer and then pack some fleece or something underneath, depending on activity I'm doing.

Did anyone of you used similar combo? What models would you recommend? I was thinking about Patagonia torrentshell

Is the Torrental 3L Patagonia worth the money?

I live in Newfoundland, Canada where we get quite a bit of rain. I work a low paying job, so $225 CAD is a lot of money for me but I still want to invest in a proper jacket.

Is this worth the money or am I better off going for a more affordable jacket like Columbia?

Reasonably priced hunting clothes

I know everyone has their preferences on brands and some people are die hard Sitka or kuiu fans but I’m looking for recommendations on hunting clothes(or even non just earthy tones clothes that would last walking through brush and briars) that aren’t gonna cost an arm and leg. I’ve been wanting to get back into hunting but I haven’t been out since middle school with my pap. I’m 27 now and want to know where my food comes from and carry on the tradition but I have a lot of gear that’s I need to accumulate. Any suggestions would be helpful thanks in advance.

How do you split up the small stuff on group camping trips?

The big gear is easy to sort out on group camping trips. A tent or sleeping bag usually has an obvious owner. It is the little stuff that ends up in whichever car or tote is closest. Headlamps, charging cables, lighters, spare stakes, and small tools all get mixed together.

We started making mugs and cutlery cases personal because people eat at different times. I put surnames on the hard cases with my Niimbot M2. Loose utensils, the stove, the wash basin, and the water container still stay in the shared kitchen bin.

I do not want to make a checkout list for a weekend trip. I am leaning toward keeping anything you might need after dark personal, while setup gear stays in the shared tote. How does your group divide it?

What can you say about the Mammut brand? Is it suitable for outdoor activities in the mountains? How high-quality is this brand? Tell me, who knows.

Knife for children (6)

I'm looking for a knife for my 6 y old girl and my niece.

Are there any recommendations?

My daughter likes to build an adventurer bag pack?

Any other recommendations?

Especially ropes? I think more about a static rope.
