How Aurora relates to the Mythology behind Balor

How Aurora relates to the Mythology behind Balor

>!So with the Castor and Aurora theory seeming more and more likely with each day I'd like to point out a connection Aurora herself has to a major character in the Irish myth that inspired the main villain Balor. To recap Balor is a giant of Irish myth who has a powerful eye capable of destroying anything it gazes on and an army of supernatural beings. Balor's story is about how he hears a promonition from an oracle who tells him he'll be killed by his grandson. In response to this Balor locks his daughter, Ethniu, away into a tower to prevent her from ever getting pregnant. Balor's enemy, Cian, hear of this prophecy and sneaks into the tower to impregnate her in secret. When Balor learns of this he tries to have the son(s) killed. One son, named Loog is saved and later goes on to kill Balor with a magic spear by stabbing his eye out.!<

>!Already this might seem similar.!<

>!Aurora seems to be confined to her temple by her father Solel and is forbidden to have any visitors, with her temple guarded 24/7. The Castor theory states that because Castor is a member of the Vulcan's who guard this temple hw was close enough to form a relationship with Aurora and conceive Cai with her. He is standing in for Cian. He was likely allowed to raise Cai until he was old enough to fend for himself before the guards would come mto arrest Castor. Cai's route is called Hell's Eye and has to do with the eye like amulet that wedges itself into his hand and can shoot out destructive blasts just like Balor's eye is said to do. (Side note; The significance of Balor's eye in the myth might be the reason why the retainers all have some eye related issue). Of course Cai also weilds a spear and is one of the 4 heroes necessary to defeat Balor. It seems pretty likely Cai is standing in for Loog in this story although some liberties are being taken. As for Aurora, Ethniu in some myths is also portrayed as the wife or mother of The Dagda, the main god of Celtic myth. Here she seems to be a descendant of Dagda being the daughter of Solel. That also makes Cai, Solel's grandson. Aurora taking inspo from Ethniu is no accident if this theory is true.!<

>!A lot of this mythology has direct ties to 3 houses as well. Loog was the name of the first king of Faerghus, Loog's horse was named Enbarr. The spear he weilded was the Spear of Assal and his sword was the Answerer (the sword of the sea god), the same sword Dietrich weilds (who is famously hunting a sea monster), to state a few examples. The significance of this Celtic legend to Fortune's Weave and Three Houses is clear and evident and I imagine we'll see even more parallel's once the game releases next month.!<

>!I really wonder what Cai being related to Aurora and the Divine Sovereign has to do with his "hell's eye" amulet and Balor, because I doubt they are unconnected. Perhaps Dagda fought with Balor and stole his eye or perhaps he is Balor? He is deceased and the original ruler of the Dagdan empire so the villain lady might be talking about him in the trailer. Solel could be lying about Dagda like Rhea did about Nemesis. What do you think about this connection? Does this inspire any theories of your own?!<
