Lost my cat today

Question for you all. I apologize if I am in the wrong group for this.
So, I have been having these "dreams" for as long as I can remember where I watch women being hurt or held hostage. I always wake feeling sad that I cannot help them. This time I finally asked a spirit that was there with me named Michael (he told me his name) why I had to be there and watch and he said "someone (human) needs to bear witness"
I asked why me but I do not remember what he said. Does anyone have a similar experience?
