Was this a $600 mistake?
I have had my viwoods ai for about 3 weeks and initially liked it alot but as I use it more and more its become increasingly frustrating and i am on the verge of returning it but thought i would try here first. (I've used and owned all the major eink brands so i'm not a total idiot but maybe I am missing something?) Anyway, here are some questions:
- When i try the custom feature of the stylus button, i try to hover within 1 cm for lasso and higher for erase. This works about 1 try out of 10. I either lasso when i want to erase or erase when i want to lasso. Its become useless. I even bought the ceramic stylus and its just as unreliable. Is this typical?
- when i lasso a phrase to either make a to do or other function, the lasso disappears before i get a chance to click the to do icon. So I have to re lasso at least twice before it "takes." Is there a trick to stable lassoing?
- outlines seem outrageously unintutive. youd think you could circle a written title and make it the outline title. Doesnt seem so. If i click the ... and enter an outline title, it appears nowhere in the page but it does show up in the outline structure. Makes no sense! Do i have to reenter the outline title? And how do i indent or make subsections? Can someone point me to a good outline tutorial? Ive googled and looked on youtube and in viwoods "user guide" but all i find is marketing fluff. No step by step.
- finally, i don't feel like testing this but it seems like when i import from dropbox i have to navigate 3 levels of viwoods folders before i can confirm a working location and download my doc. Is importing docs from the cloud this klunky? Again, I've navigated boox, supernote and remarkable just fine. Viwoods is so confusing.
- is it just me? Am i one of the "maybe viwoods just isnt for you?" people? Im tech savvy, love eink gadgets and workflow but geez beyond basic note taking, this device is ridiculous. (Don't even get me started on why there are vinotes, ainotes, pick notes, calendar notes...)
Ugh as I type this i am realizing this might have been a $600 mistake. Any help?
